Persona users?

Does anyone else use Persona to see when they ovulate? I was using it as contraception but now trying to ttc.

Just wondered if you get the 'O' ovulation symbol every month, cus I don't and I'm worried it means I'm not ovulating regularly. Judging from when I have had it (and also ewcm etc) I think I ovulate quite late (cd 17) so would have done all my weeing on a stick by then and it wouldn't be picked up on?

Just interested to hear of anyone else's experiences with it...

Hi there, I was using it as a contraceptive and ended up pregnant. It's gathered dust since I'm afraid as I lost all faith in it. I was using it as per instructions and we were in month 5 so it had got to know my cycle. It gave me a green day on cd16 which I've since learned is generally when I ov.
So maybe try bd'ing on the green days? lol

Sorry to be of no help but good luck ttc and lots of baby dust to you. x

Hi Coco

I used to use a Persona, but I gave up in the end as I found the same thing as you - I think it was missing my ov-ing because I'd used all 10 tests and ov'd late sometimes. I'm now on month 3 of using a Clearblue monitor and I think its better as this will keep asking you to poas if it hasn't detected your ov by the end of 10 sticks (they come in boxes of 20 not 10).

Sorry not to give you more positive thoughts but if I were you I'd switch to the CBDM.

Thanks for replies ladies.

Mel, are you finding that the Clearblue monitor shows you ovulate every month even though the Persona didn't?

Apparently, if you wet it too much that can also show the wrong thing...

Hmmm, maybe I should invest in a Clearblue...

Hi Coco

Unfortunately it doesn't look like I've ov-d since I started use it although it has gone 'high' (the cbdm has low, high and peak). Some months when I was using the Persona monitor I double checked with some cheapie ov sticks and they both said the same thing so it looked like it was working properly. Sorry - I should have pointed that out in my previous post - I hope I have still helped!!!

Still very helpful thank you Mel!

Not sure if I can fork out for a CB monitor at the moment (it's two weeks to my wedding and I am broke!!) but might get some ov sticks....

How did anyone get pregnant in the old days without this technology eh?! x

Yes exactly, it does make you wonder doesn't it?!!

Have a lovely wedding, how exciting - I hope you have a lovely day. I got my CBDM from ebay by the way - I won it at ??40 and the lady who sold it only used it for one month and got her bfp so I was hoping the good luck would rub off but alas, no! Its worth looking on ebay when you do decide to get one, I think the new ones were going for around ??60.
