Was just using mymonthycycles period calculator....

AF is due the day before i get married in August!!!

I'm getting married abroad, which makes it worse with all the water based activities..

Found out you can get tablets to postpone AF.... but won't this just mess up my cycles... plus all the side effects it will cause

I'm sooo confused about what to do... considering just having my period, as i really want a baby :\(

What would you do?????????? Any ideas on how to naturally lighten AF??

Any advise would help xx

4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS OF NORESTHISTERONE
Like many medicines norethisterone may cause side-effects in some patients, particularly when you first start taking them. The side-effects that some other patients have had with norethisterone include breakthrough bleeding, particularly when treatment is continuous over a long period. Occasionally, periods may stop, become irregular or prolonged and heavy, or spotting may be experienced.

Other reported side-effects are feeling sick or being sick, stomach ache, acne, swelling of the ankles, weight gain, appetite changes, headache, dizziness, depression, itching, skin rashes, breast changes, including discomfort, ovarian cysts, discoloration of the skin, hair loss, changes in sex drive, drowsiness, tiredness or sleeplessness, mood changes and other pre-menstrual syndrome-like symptoms, high blood sugar, fever, worsening of vision in patients who are short sighted, minor eye changes which may cause difficulties if you wear contact lenses and changes in liver function.

Rarely, thrombosis (a clot in a blood vessel) can occur, particularly with high doses.

If you need to take the tablets for a long time, rarely, an increase in body hair might occur. Rarely, severe allergic reaction which may cause the face to swell and cause wheezing.

If you suffer from migraine or epilepsy, you may find that your condition worsens.

If you experience any other side-effects or feel that the medicine is affecting you badly, tell your doctor or pharmacist.

I agree with mrs rich, don't tamper with your cycle if you really want a baby soon. Are you ttc now?
20/04/2008 at 08:54
Thank Mrs Rich, i've been so emotional since i found out

I always have a day or two with really bad "stay in bed allll day" cramps... which is biggest fear! I'm going to be the moody bride2b stick in bed in pain..

Just started taking EPO heard its meant to help with cycles, so hopefully it helps...

I REALLY REALLY hope i get pregnant before August now  God why is the baby making stuff taking so long...

Now his bloody sister found out we are trying as she seen my Conception and Zita West books.... and keep saying she knows were ttc in front of everyone yesterday.. :x So now everyone is just expecting us to tell them the 'news' ... WE'VE been bloody waiting 19mths for the 'news' let alone his family knowing we're ttc now... even extra blinking pressure!! Urgh....

Sorry i'm just waffling on... feel crap today

I would just go with it. My best mate had af when she got married and although it was a bit of a pain on the day (and I'm sure for the first few days of her honeymoon!) it meant that she hit the most fertile part of her cycle while she was away and came home pregnant with a honeymoon baby!

Sorry you are feeling so crap. I agree with the others about not stopping af, but if you usually feel so ill with it is it worth talking to gp or pharmacist to see if theres anything that may relieve the bad cramps? I take 2 paracetamol and 600mg ibuprofen at the same time and find them pretty effective and without side effects.
Dont have any solution to the familiy pressure I'm afraid, except telling them that you have been trying unsucessfully and its a bit of a sore point and you dont want to discuss it. Hope you feel better soon, hugs, Helen.x

Thanks Bedhead... My fertile days are the last couple of days we are out there... so hopefully get lots of BD after AF and have good news like your friend... a honeymoon baby would be amazing!! xx

I using take 500mg ibuprofen, but will ask the doctor about the 2 paracetamols and 600mg...!!

I was horrible yesterday... he's sister wouldn't stop going on about knowing we are TTC... she keep going on and on and on... we never confirmed we were, just said we'll see after the wedding what happens, or ignored the question.

Her partner doesnt want children or marry her... and seeing her younger brother getting married and ttc, must be hard but she just needs to back off... (breathe!) could really do with her not knowing and going on about it!! xx

Sorry Boo wasn't sure.xx If it's any consolation we enjoyed our wedding day so much buy the evening and time to "consumate" the marriage came we both fell asleep, glass of champers in hand !! Then I was so travel sick on the way to our honeymoon we still didn't do it for three days. You'll be so blissed out by the end of you honeymoon it's bound to happen xxx

Boo
Just one other thing to consider which I didn't originally take into account with respect to TTC during our honeymoon is malaria tablets. Not sure whether this applies to your overseas wedding? Post back if so....
Congratulations on your wedding - you must be so excited.

Cool its just that you can't TTC whilst taking them and for a few weeks after....

Thanks J, just checked and im okay for malaria tablets in Jamaica .... (phew) Cheers hun xx

hey just to say that your cycle may always change before then. i was worried about a similar thing last year (got married july) but cycles shortened ever so slightly and my AF actually came exactly a week before the wedding so everything was ok come the big day.
hope everything goes well!

Good news... Jamaica sounds fab.Am V glad that you don't need to take the tablets as it effectively took out over a month of TTC. As you need to allow time to clear them from your system after you come home too.
