Cycles are 41 days and I ovulate on day 28.
I would really like to try something to shorten my cycle but
Scared I might muck it up even more. We are giving Pre seed a
Go this month, i am only on cd 10 so have another 18 days till
Ovulation and then the long 2ww lol x

Hello, sorry to g/c but just wanted to wish you luck. I had really long cycles, 60-80 days! I had a mmc in 2010 and then it took 18 months to get my bfp. Im now 23 weeks. So it can happen even if your cycles are long. I went to a consultant last May who said I had mild pcos and he precsribed clomid which makes you ovulate regularly and thats what worked for me. It maybe you have the same problem so if you have no luck go to your docs and if need be say you've been trying for longer than you have and you get referred like I did.

Good luck and remeber it can happen even wiht long cycyles xxx

PS, I never tried it myself but a lot of people say angus cactus works to regulate cycles, you can get it from a health shop. Also reflexology works as well. If you look on the ttc after mc forum and the long term ttc you'll find lots of advice and some success stories x

Hi Mummy22littlegirls.

I've just come back to this forum as we're also trying for a third, having had 2 boys (3yrs and 14 months). I have always had irregular and longer than average cycles. It's so frustrating, isn't it! I'm on my third cycle after having the implant out. This time round I've decided to give the CBFM a go. I've always used cheapie eBay sticks previously, as I can't really tell when I'm oving otherwise.

Im feeling very frustrated this month as I have had 12 highs and no peak so far! Although I seemed to have lots of cm last week, so wonder if I oved then?!

My cycles vary from 36-56 days. Urgh! My GP has offered to refer me for clomid, but I feel reticent to do so as I conceived two others naturally, so it doesn't seem right to do so somehow.

Anyway, wanted to introduce myself and say hi! Here's hoping for a BFP for us both soon! x

evening
poppy70 thanks for your reply and congratulations on your pregnancy. we have been ttc for 13 months with a mmc in aug 2011 and then another in dec 2011. my doctor sent me for a scan to rule out pcos, which was all fine but my blood tests showed very low estrogen levels but my progesterone level was 74 so my doctor didnt seem too concerned.

hi sah83
i have 2 girls (17months and 29 months) are you hoping for a girl next time? i would love a little boy but dont mind as long as i end up with a health little baby.
i have never used the cbfm i use the clear blue digital ovulation tests. fingers crossed you either get your peak soon or you are already in the 2ww without knowing it lol
hopefully this a lucky thread and we see some bfp's soon x

Hi there. I used to have very irregular cycles ranging from 32 days to 69 days. Someone on here recommended Agnus Castus to me and I took it from CD1 of my current cycle and ovulated on CD15! So it worked right away for me. I would highly recommend it.

Hi sammyhamuk, how much do you take a day? Really think I'm going
To try it next month. Keep us updated if you get your bfp x

HI,

i would def love to join in. we've just hit 12 months ttc our 1st and im on my 3rd cycle since mmc too. on cd19 due to ov on cd30. i have pcos so i sort of know what the prob is, not much i can do about it though as doctor is reluctant to help me out unless i go to a specialist as im only 24. i dont think it should matter how old you are if thats what you want though

ive thought about agnus cactus but decided against it because even though my cycles are quite long they are generally pretty consistant. also you cant take it after you ov as it causes the uterus to contract so you need to be able to pinpoint ovulation. if i eer get around to it im going to book in for acupuncture i think

i must say its nice to know im not the only one with long cycles. i get a bit jeleous looking at peoples 28 day cycle tickers

At first I was taking just one a day, then realised I should be taking more so took 2 tablets twice a day (so four tablets). Like MrsLennon mentioned, you are meant to stop taking them after you ovulate. To pinpoint ovulation I started temping which is really easy and cheap to do.

I'll keep you updated if I get my BFP.

Hi, please can I join you?

I have long and VERY irregular cycles. We've been trying for our first baby for 17 months.

My cycles are usually somewhere between 46 to 60 days long although I have had a couple of short cycles just to really confuse me! One was just 24 days long (I'd only started OPKs on day 20 as I usually ovulate well past day 30!!)... I honestly feel like my body plays tricks on me sometimes!

Like Mrs Lennon, I've started to get really jealous of people with regular, 28 day cycles! It just feels like a really long wait between BFN and trying again! It doesn't help that everyone around me seems to be falling pregnant instantly!

I have endometriosis and the doctor thinks I may have mild PCOS too. I'm going in for a scan on Monday morning which I'm actually looking forward to as at least I'll feel like I'm doing something.

I've been taking Agnus Castus for a while. The first month I took it, I ovulated on day 15 but the next cycle I ovulated at day 35!!...

I have persevered with it though and have been having acupuncture at the same time (which I love!) and in the last 2 cycles I've ovulated on day 20. It's the first time my cycles have been anywhere near regular and short-ish(34-35 days) I just REALLY hope it continues!

I'm so happy to have found this forum. I was beginning to feel like I was the only one with such annoying cycles and, after trying so long I was feeling fairly disheartened. Poppy70- congratulations and thank you- you've given me some hope!

Wishing us all BFPs ASAP!

wow i cant believe so many people have replied, i was starting to feel like i was the only person with long cycles.

hi mrslennon i am really sorry for your loss. i was 24 when we started ttc no:1 and i didnt feel young at all.

hi elle155 good luck at your scan on monday, please let us know how it goes. where do you buy your agnus castus? and how many do you take a day? i really want to try it next cycle but just a little worried, i am only on cd11 so have loads of time to think about it.

i am also very jeleous of people with 28 day cycles, when they are getting either there af or bfp i am only just ovulating. i find the 2ww so long after waiting 28 day to ovulate that i end up testing at 8dpo lol x

Hello Ladies! It's so nice to know I'm not the only one totally frustrated by my cycles! I have been taking agnus castus in liquid form (I read it's meant to be more potent than tabled form). I think it's cut my cycle down, but not really sure as my cbfm seems to have gone crazy and hasn't told me I've ovulated yet, just given me 12 (and counting!) highs. But from observing my cm (sorry if tmi) I'd say I'd oved last week, which would mean the agnus castus worked a treat. Wish I'd backed up testing with regular ov sticks!! Now I have no idea where I am. I'm on cd24 according to my monitor, but hoping I'm in my 2ww.

Wish they'd develop something that would tell you exactly where abouts you are in your cycle!!

Oh well. Lets all be jealous of the 28 dayers together! x

sah83- ive found temping to be fab at pinpointing where i am in my cycle. you do need to check your temp with a basel body temp thermometre as soo as you wake up, but you can generally see exactly when you ov'd. maybe try that next cycle??

Thanks Mrslennon. I might try that. What would I want to be noticing if I did? And why does it matter what kind of thermometer you use? X

Hi ladies hope your all well?
A little update from me, last cycle I had day 3 and 21 blood tests
Done that showed I had very low estrogen levels but my progesterone
Was really good so I wasnt to worried untill today when I have received
An appointment to see a fertility specialist at the end of may.
Does anyone know what will be done at this appointment? X
13/04/2012 at 08:25
Mummy- I'm not sure what the would be looking for sorry

Sah- the thermometer measures so 2 decimal places so it's more accurate, I got one quite cheap new on eBay. I use fertilityfriend.com to chart which does most of the hard work for you and teaches you what to look for. What you will see is a thermal shift of temps being higher after ov. You can't predict ov per se but if you are regular each month you will see it coming. You will see a definite point of ov though and will know when you are due af or late. If you click on my ticker at the bottom of my post it should take you to my recent few charts. Any other Q's let me know

Sorry, mummy, I'm not sure either. Hope you get some encouraging news at your appointment though.

Thank you Mrslennon. Unfortunately my cycles are completely irregular, which is very frustrating. Maybe it would help to confirm to me that I have ovulated though?

I've just ordered some cheepie ov sticks in case I haven't oved yet and run out of cbfm sticks - I only have 3 left and hear it only asks you for 20.

Is anyone already in their 2ww or are we all waiting for ov? To be honest, I can cope with waiting for 2 weeks, it's not knowing how long til ov that gets me!! X
13/04/2012 at 19:23
me too sah83, 2 ww is nothing compared to waiting an unknwn amount of time to ov. yeah im still waiting, prob not for another week or so. I would def try temping, its so easy to miss LH surge on opks. i do still use them sometimes but generally never get a +ve even though i know i have due to thermal shift

Hi hope everyone had a nice weekend?
After getting over the shock of receiving the specialist
Appointment I'm now actually excited as this could help
Us get our bfp.
How is everyone else doing?
Sah83 have you had your peak yet?
Elle155 good luck at your scan today.

Only a quick post as I'm on my phone x

Hi everyone. I had a lovely weekend until someone threw a brick over our fence and hit our porch last night! I was home alone with the kids and it made a huge bang, frightened the life out of me. We don't normally have problems like that here, but next door have cctv and caught a group of 7 teenagers picking up bricks from some rubble in their front garden. Have to file a police report today and speak to insurers about the damage. Great!

Anyway. Mrslennon, I have a thermometer we use for the children that gives 2 decimal places. Will this do the job? Think I will give it a try next cycle.

Mummy, I've just tested this morning and my monitor said low!! It was my last stick, so I'm kind of pleased it showed so.e change. I think I'm going to go on the assumption that I must have ov'd between cd12 and cd20. If that's the case, the agnus castus has definitely worked! Gonna keep doing cheapie opk's just in case, but I guess I'm probably in week 2 of my 2ww!?! I will be very interested to see when af arrives - or hopefully if. I also bought a few cheapie pg tests online, so I think I'll try testing on the weekend and see what it says.

So glad you're excited by your appointment. Hopefully they'll be able to tell you exactly what you're body's doing!

Good luck with your scan Elle155.

Thanks ladies- I've just got back from my scan and it wasn't as traumatic as I thought it would be- no worse than a smear test! The good news is the nurse said she doesn't think I have PCOS (although I have to wait for blood tests to confirm)... The bad news is I have a giant cyst on my left ovary. She couldn't tell me how this would affect fertility or if its the cause of my irregular cycles but I have to go back to see a consultant.

It was horrible sitting in the waiting room as it was full of pregnant women going in for their ultrasounds. Don't think I've ever felt so envious!

mummy22littlegirls, I get my agnus castus from Amazon when I buy my OPKs. I take 2 capsules a day which is what it says on the bottle. I think that equates to 1000mg but not too sure. I haven't had any side effects so would recommend giving it a go. I take it from CD1 until I get a positive OPK.

I hope your appointment with the specialist goes well. You're right to see it as a positive thing- I'd be really excited- it's moving you in the right direction isn't it. Did you say it was the end of May?

Mrslennon, temping sounds good. Did it take you a while to get your head around all the charts etc? That's what puts me off it a bit. It would save me a fortune in OPKs though!!

Sah83, that sounds awful- especially with your kids in the house. I hope the police actually take action! It's good that your neighbours have the CCTV. Did they cause a lot of damage?

Like you I think I'm around week 2 of the 2ww but I think I'm going to hold out to test as late as possible. I hate the feeling of getting a BFN so much. I don't think I can face many more. Do you have any symptoms? I'm usually SS like mad about now but I haven't noticed a single one this month. It's either a bad sign or just a sign that I'm getting more relaxed about things.

Anyway, hope you're all doing well... I'm off to work in the hope that it takes my mind off things (or at least stops me googling ovarian cysts!!!)
