Ladies that have come off dianette, how are you doing?

Hi ladies

I have been off the pill (dianette) now since March. I have got back to a regular cycle of 30/31 days. We have only been ttc since we got married in June, no bfp yet! My skin has stayed fairly clear but over the last few weeks its got worse around my jaw, the rest of my face is reasonalbe most of the time.

How is everyone else getting on? Hows your skin and has anyone had a bfp?

I came of dianette about 8 months ago Been TTC since june, My skin well its been ok The odd spot here an there, But no were near as often as before, My periods have became regular, I can set my watch by them :\) But i have noticed the longer I am off it the more stronger the pains are getting each month , which was the reason for taking pill in 1st place, Im not due till about 19th Aug , An been experienceing period pains since the end of july heartburn an sickily every now n then

hi I took my last dianette pill on 26th june to start trying for a baby. I had a/f on 30th and have had nothing since.
I have felt slightly sick throughout some days and had headaches which I never suffer from. My lower back has been aching and I have been quite bloated. I have been constantly weeing and very constipated! thats all though!!!! I had all this before I read up on symptoms so I know its not all in my head.
I did a test on 6th Aug but it was neg, although I was that excited I had a wee just as I left work and did a tiny dribble on the stick when I got home...how stupid am I?!! I am going to do another one on 13th.

Because I didnt have a proper period how likely is it that I am pregnant? I have been on pill for 10years and had a 2 month break 5 years ago during which my period came back to normal quite quick.

Help me!!!!

I came off the pill in January and thought my cycles were settling down and now I've started spotting on day 23.

Really fed up of not knowing exactly where I am it with it and feeling like my body is not working properly.

Had blood tests which I should get the results of this week.

My skin has been quite bad, mostly along my jaw line but bad enough to make me want to stay in the house - I feel about 15 again :cry:

allie316, without wanting to be negative I'd say its unlikely you're pregnant but it *is* possible so if you don't have an AF there's nothing to stop you testing. Good luck and fingers crossed.

There have been a few girls on here that have waited 6+ months for their first AF x

i know exactly how you feel, i took my last Dianette pill on the 29th June and to this day ive still not had a true AF. I did a test on saturday and it came back BFN. Cos Ive not a AF i dont know when im OV.

Should I be worried that ive not had a AF? I understand it takes time for everything to be regular but my problem is ive no patient!

Ive already come out with spots round my chin area and feel like an teenager! (im 25)

Can anyone give me advice

My friend came off her pill and fell pregnant straight away, her dr said she prob fell in the 1st 2 wks of coming off it....so Im hopeful!!!

My face is so oily and I have had a few spots already, not had one for god knows how long.

Im doing another test on wed morning so ill let you know!! I havent had a/f for almost 6 wks and apparently you are most fertile when you come off the pill so fingers crossed!

I do feel different but im not sure if its my body getting back to normal and one huge visit from a/f due!!!!

Ooh good luck with testing on Wed allie, fingers crossed for a bfp. If you dont get one hopefully your cycle will settle down soon, it can take a fair while after being on the pill for a long time.

Without sounding awful Im glad Im not the only one who is getting spots again, hee hee! Strange how we're all getting them roung the jaw line/chin. At least Im not alone, hee hee!

I did stop taking it 5 years ago and my period came back with 30 days, i decided the time wasnt right to try for a baby and started taking the pill again. so im hopeful im not going to get a visit from AF!!!

Ive got everything crossed for all of us!!!!

Oh and i know what you mean about the spots, it makes you feel so down doesnt it, although it will be worth it when get those BFP's!!!

My skin seems to be worse than it was before I even went on the pill...although I was 14 at the time so its hard to remember :lol:

hi girls, i was on this years ago and when i came off my skin went mad!
i use a benzole peroxie 2.5% gel from boots once washed face with mild cleanser,2x a day then allow to dry and follow with an oil free moisterizer and my skin has stayed clear.

Hi All,

I hope i can give you some encouragement/hope....

I was on Dianette until October '07 and for the first 3 months when i came off my skin stayed nice and clear although after January it started to come out in fairly nasty spots.

My periods, thankfully, returned to normal 28 day cycles straightaway.

Well, in March, after 6 months of TTC we conceived and are now expecting our first baby in early December! Those 6 months were the longest of my life and i dreaded every 2WW.

I read some horror stories about women coming off the pill, particularly Dianette who had real troubles TTC but i just wanted to say that all of our bodies are different and will behave differently.....

I hope you all get your BFP's soon and i am sending lots of baby dust your way *******************************************************

hi all,

im glad there seems to be some postive feedback about coming off Dianette as i freaked myself out by reading too much stuff on line!

I myself feel different with pains in my lower back etc but it prob means AF on the way!

Its been 6 weeks since my true AF and to be honest i am kinda worried why it not started yet and im not PG as ive tested.

This is my first month of ttc and (sorry for sounding abit thick) but is it possible for me to get PG even though ive not had a true AF. (came off the pill in june)

It IS possible to get pregnant before you've had your first real AF but if you've tested and got a BFN I'd wait abit longer and then test again or just hold on for AF to arrive!

Its frustrating isn't it :\( x

Hi

I think it is possible for you to get pregnant. The issue of having a true period before you do get pregnant is to do with the docs etc being able to "date" your baby more accurately i.e. know how far on you are and give you an estimated due date.

Hi everyone

I'm new to this forum, it's good to know there are other people out there in a similar situation, I'm so sick of hearing people say they came off the pill and got pregnant the same month!
I came off Dianette in April and it was 13 weeks before I got my first proper period. The next one was 6 weeks after that and now I'm 4 weeks into my third cycle. I'm taking my temperature every day so I know when I've ovulated. Still no high temps this 'month' so going to be at least a six week cycle again. Really recommend it if your cycles are screwed up after coming off the pill as it saves you getting excited and doing loads of pregnancy tests! Fertilityfriend.com is fab for interpreting the readings and has loads of advice on when to tell if you're fertile or not.
Fingers crossed my cycles get a bit shorter, they were spot on 35 days when I went on the pill at 17 (30 now).

Oh by the way, my skin went really bad too but have been using the Nick Lowe stuff from Boots (it's new) and Clearasil Ultra and it's loads better.

Really pleased to find this thread, I came off dianette in Aug (5 years on it and 12 on the pill altogether)

I was very nervous about my periods going back to normal and of course the spots, (i was also on acctane for them a few years back) sadly they are already making an apperance, on my jaw line too!

I've had one true period and am now on 2ww! fingers crossed. I know it may not happen, im being realistic, i know it could take months or longer. (ive got PCOS too) im just grateful ive seen af already.

I too am pleased to have found this thread, i was put on Dianette when i was about 15 because of my spots, it was working lovely, the doctor then took me off it and i had to try other pills for the last 5 years before i came off July last year, I've had regular periods since, but i'm sure i recall the doc saying the reason she took me off dianette was because it can effect fertility, does anyone know if this is true?
