Feeling lucky for July BFP club

Dmari I use the CBFM and for the first month I had all highs (two boxes black) for the entire first month even when I knew from my own body and charting that ov had been and gone. It started asking for tests on CD9 and then every day efter that until the "m" appeared informing me that AF was due.

I was confused about this and looked online and found other ladies with exactly the same thing happening so I called CB and they said that it takes 1-2 months to get to know your wee and will ask for a test everyday from cd9 (which is usually a couple of days after your AF has finished) to start gaining data and so it is unlikely to pick up a peak in the first 1-2 months because it doesnt have many base levels to go on.

They advised me to continue my charting and watching my body for the first 1-2 months along with using the CBFM so that I dont miss out on any days and the monitor can continue gaining data. I know they dont really explain that one on the box when you buy it now do they!!

I also used to read the sticks themselves. Although CB dont recommend it I dont see that it can do any harm because what the monitor does is read the dark lines that appear in the window on your stick and then give you a definate anwser whereas when you do it visually yourself with other ov kits you can get confused.

The line closest to the peeing end of the stick detects LH, this gets stronger the closer you get to Ov. The other line detects Oestrogen, this gets lighter as the hormone increases as you approach Ov.

So a 'peak' should show a dark LH line and a light Oestrogen line. I (because I am strange) did take pictures of the CMFM window and the stick window for a while to show how they matched up. I will see if I can find them.

No AF for me still. I havent taken any tests. Im going to wait until Thursday.

Thanks so much Shelley for all the information. Very useful. Although I get highs from cd 9 I am also getting the peak days (normally start from cd17) and did from the first cycle using it also. So I'm guessing its a good sign I am getting the peaks.

I will have a more close look at the lines what harm will it do....

Fc hope af stays away and you get a BFP Thursday. xx

Hi Ladies hope we're all enjoying bding and waiting for ovulation. Just wondering for those who have been pregnant before when you first started getting symptoms. I should have Ov'd around Thursday/Friday last week and we danced sunday, mon, tues, thurs and sat & yest. But yesterday day I sat down to eat lunch and had to high tail it to the loo to throw up after a few mouthfuls and today I have a really distinctive metalic taste in my mouth. Do you think its possible to be experiencing symptoms that soon after ovulation and possible conception or do you think its probably all in my head? I was sick from about 4 weeks to 40 weeks with my last one but i'm generally not a sicky person when not pregnant so was a bit taken a back by yesterdays digestive pyrotechnics! x

hi herewegoagain, I think you only get symptoms a week after ovulation, when implantation occurs. However, it might be possible that you ovd a oupol eof days earlier than you thought. I was wondering this a coupl eof days ago as felt really sick and tired, but I think i was just tired fingers crossed x

How long will you leave it before you test Levi pink? It might be a bfp round the corner. Before I got my bfp I was getting mild af cramps and sore boobs and convinced she was round the corner. I didn't test until 6 weeks after my last period and I was completely surprised as we only bd twice that month as we had given up after a year of trying. You will get there just as I believe I will even if it has been 22 months!! Xx

Think I may have been a bit full on today with the fact I'm ovulating as my partner says he feeling pressurised to do the deed I can't help it when you are wanting something so bad then you get the green light I get so excited! I really don't think he understands how small the window is and how you have to seize the moment feel ultra sensitive and like my bubble been burst I'm clock watching thinking every hour that passes is eating into my chance but I don't want it to cause a row either aah help! Hi Fiona86, aww 22 months, yes bubba just not ready yet thats all. well I just did a cheeky Internet cheapie! Bfn. Knew it would be but couldn't help it. I am irregular so I am not sure when af is due really. I am on day 35 so far. Fertility friend says I am due tomorrow. I think it is coming because my temp dropped this morning not below cover line but still. No sore boobs, just got bigger. No other symptoms. Gosh I really don't want it to come! Xx

Hey dollie doodle, you poor thing!!! Nothing worse than that situation and you will probably find that most ladies on here have been through it too. We had to bd a lot last month cos of the high days on cbfm and so by the peak days he was not best pleased and I felt like you do now! It puts lots of pressure on them doesn't it but I understand how you feel hunny. Maybe just explain to him that you could give it a try and if it doesn't work then at least you both did what you could xxxx

Ah yes Dollie Doodle can sympathise you fully been in that situation oh so many times.  Its so frustrating, you feel sorry for them in one hand and the other your like just get on with it, there is only one way to make a baba!!  I have found myself not speaking to oh cos  he has a so called headache (i thought that was our excuse-lol) then Im thinking what i am doing cos if Im not speaking to him then I cant bring his round.  Oh it really is a stressful time for us both..  Aaaargh!!!.  Im laidback generally but approaching ov time, Im not so, ha ha.  As Im using CBFM  Im leaving oh be as much as poss just now until a day or so before I expect peaks to kick in, then I'll pounce, !!!  He has been warned!!!    Oh I sound awful dont I??  xx

10/07/2012 at 21:35

It's such a trying time ttc - I had no idea really it could get so stressful.  Right now I'm not particularly stressed, I just feel for all you guys who  have been ttc for a while and suffering the same stresses and strains every month, I genuinely don't know how you do it.

I think I'm on cd24 and I think I ov'd on 4th July but now I think about it, there wasn't the same amount of ewcm that there had been the month before.  I don't seem to have any cm at all at the moment so I guess af will arrive shortly.  I've got belly ache like I usually do so I'm expecting the nasty witch by Saturday!

Hope your hubby agrees to 'perform' Dollie Doodle, I can understand their pressure though to be fair!  Just use your feminine charms to tempt him!! xx

Oh dollie doodle I know how you feeeell!!
My OH moans about not getting enough when I'm on and I'm like hey there's not a lot I can do about that lol then the BDing starts which is fun at first but when I start to think its ov time I wana do it every day but he feels pressured and we argue or he'll try but it's not the same
Whenever I don't get my way I get sooo sick with worry that were missing our chance.
I can totally sympathise on your part but also on ouR men lol, although I'm sure before these baby making days they were like machines!!!!!!! Haha

Hey Levi sorry it was a bfn but there's still hope x

Our cycles are pretty close hush puppy, I'm on cd20 and think I ov around 5th.
But yesterday and today I've had (sorry tmi alert) slippy ewcm when I wipe?
Who knows I still don't know for sure after all my ttc experience!!
And I'm feeling achey but maybe it's just general achey-ness? Xx

Morning ladies, thank you for all your kind words and support dont know what i'd do without you all I think I had a bit of a meltdown yesterday after some time out I sat down and talked calmly with my OH a few tears were shed but I think we now understand eachother and are both back on the same page I think it made me realise just how he is being effected by TTC just as much as I am so after a heart to heart a big hug we made up in the bedroom whoop whoop! X

Aw Dollie glad your okay now and made up in the best way possible.

Thats the beauty of the forum in that we are all in the same boat, does us good to share the good and bad times. A lifeline for me, I should gave joined a lot sooner.

Hope the rest of you ladies are well, fc for you all.

Looking good levi fc xx

I totally agree. I used to troll these threads for years but never thought of joining because in the beginning I thought I wont need all this I will be preggers in no time and then when the time ticked on for me I started to feel too embarrassed to join because I hadn’t conceived yet but I had no underlying issues to report on.

Im glad I finally bit the bullet and joined and have found that you guys have been great. No judgments just cyber hugs! lol

Well still no AF for me and I have been really good and not done anymore sneaky tests lol. I will be officially 1 week late tomorrow and so I will do the HPT recommended by my doc then. I really hope it is a BFP because if I have to wait another week before I can go to the doctors I will need a wig because I will have pulled all of my hair out!

You must be really confused Shelley - hopefully you'll get a lovely bfp tomorrow!

Hi Fiona - we are quite close then aren't we?!  I had quite a bit of cm for a few days last month but I only had it on what I presume was the day I ovulated this month.  I doubt it means anything but it's hard not to read things into it don't you think?!

It's perhaps still my cycle settling down after coming off the pill in May, I've only had one af so I guess it's still all haywire!  I'll see soon enough I suppose! xxx

aww fingers crossed Shelley1345! we are all routing for you xx
