hi there

Amelia is 2 (26th Feb) and last night for the first time EVER she slept through. I am in shock!

I had a difficult pregnancy and from about 18 weeks suffered chronic heartburn so hardly slept from that point on. So, basically, I have not slept for over 2 and a half year

I did not sleep through the night last night as I kept checking on her. I still check my 4 and 5 yr old when I go to the loo etc. I sometimes check on my 16 yr old but he goes mental if he wakes up with me stood over him

Just wanted to share as I feel so happy today!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your post has given me hope! My lo has just turned 12months and isn't sleeping through yet (nowhere near!) I can't ever imagine it happening so it's good to know that he might one day, even if it isn't for another year! Xx

Well done Amelia! Long may it continue lol!

Nice to know other mum's check on their older children as well - I obsessively check on all of mine before I go to bed and if I wake up in the night.... still check on my 8yr old, and can't see that stopping anytime soon lol!

Thats brilliant news,
I had to LOL at you checking your other children. I can see me being like years to come, so its nice to know I'm not alone x

YES, she DID sleep again...yay!!!!!!!!! I am still waking lots and not going back to sleep as I think she will wake any minute.
I wonder what is the magic thing that caused her to suddenly sleep through. The strangest thing is that she dropped her afternoon nap and has now started having it again. I notice she is shooting up so maybe a growth spurt is tiring her out. Long may it continue.

thats brilliant and i hope it continues. daisy another feb baby just 2 has only slept through twice last time was last august lol and i like you was still up every hour or so. i had sciatica when pregnant from 28 weeks so i too have been 3 years without sleep. i cope really well i think but every now and then when she s ill or i am i get totally exhausted and i think ive really aged in last 3 years. so i understand how happy you must be feeling and i hope it continues xx

Glad you're getting some sleep. I'm not surprised your 16yr old doesn't like. Don't want to offend but do you think all this checking (and I'm presuming running to them straight away at night when they wake) could be contributing to sleep problems? Hope the sleeping through continues and that you relax and get some well deserved rest too!

Woohoo! well done Amelia! Dee Dee you must be chuffed!. Can you get her to have a word with Tyler please?????
23/03/2010 at 08:58
ha ha, Junnie!!!! I will send the sleep vibes your way.
-El- your probably right. I was over exagerating with the checking on the 16yr old tho. i only do it now and then..ha ha

I don't run to them when they wake..never! I just cannot resist checking on them when I am awake. Its just my maternal instinct and I can't fight it. If I do I just lay there all night worrying.

I did not do this when the 2 older ones were little but since having the other 3 I do! Not sure why!

Anyway, Amelia woke last night at 3. 30 and i just left her for a while and she played with her teddies and then went back to sleep till half 7!! whoop-a-do!!!!!!!!!!

Well done Amelia! I have been following your lack of sleep In March 08. My lo has started sleeping slightly more in the last month and after two years with no sleep it feels so good, I am just getting greedy now and want it every night.

Keep it up Amelia. Love Sleepy xx
