A robot - get some old boxes/cardboard and cover with tin foil and shiny stickers. Either keep the box whole and cut armholes or break down and hold together with string when worn.
Pirate - bandana, then brightly coloured clothes (like red,blue and yellow) mix with black trousers and stripy socks
