i got my bfp on thursday and and so excited but also really worried about another prem. my dd was born at 32+ weeks after PROM and spontaneous labour. went to see the gp before getting bfp and she said that there is nothing in my notes to suggest a cause or another prem

CONGRATULATIONS on your BFP!!! We're ttc no2 at the moment. My dd was born at 30+3 in 2009. Hope we get a bfp soon.......
We were also told it was inlikely we'd get another prem baby, but it's always at the back of the mind - what if it happens again? I guess you've just gotta get on with it and hope for the best. Hope you manage to hold this one in a bit longer! xx

Congrats. My dd was born at 34+4 weeks 3 years ago and I am currently 26 weeks with no 2 and it is always on my mind about anther prem although I know that it doesn't always work like that. I have an appointment with the consultant in 2 weeks time instead of the midwife. He wants to see me as I never made my 34 week scan the first time around and to make sure there was no reason for premature labour first time around.

Just to say that my ds was born after PROM and spontaneous labour at 30+3. I'm currently 37+3 with baby no 2!!

Because of my history with ds I have been closely monitored during this pregnancy from 20 weeks onwards. Basically the consultant told me that there was no obvious reason for my PROM (yours sounds the same) and to be reassured that labour started because of PROM. If labour had started first then waters gone that might have indicated an inability for my body to get to term. But that wasn't the case

So try not to worry too much and talk over with your midwife at booking in what kind of care you can expect. I was flagged as high risk straight away and put under consultant led care til past 36 weeks. Good luck!! xx

thanks mowani does sound very similar to your prom. good to know that waters going first is a good thing as in it causing the labour rather than me being unable to carry to term or incompetant cervix etc. i have an app with the consultant on 31st may so hopefully she will be able to shed some light on the situation.

My 2nd baby was born at 31+6 weeks and I was actually told it was quite likely for me to go early again but No3 arrived 2 days late.

My 1st was born at 36wks and this time around they are monitoring me because of her birth weight and i am considered high risk. They never really mention anything about me having another early labour though. I bet il go 2wks over this time!! I am 20wks preg at the moment.
