are they on the areola? Might just be the milk ducts

I think you're referring to Montgomery's tubules which appear during pregnancy all around the areola (pink/brown bit around nipple). I believe they secrete oil to help lubricate your nipple during breastfeeding but I could be wrong.

Hope this helps

I've had these from early on in my preganancy - just assumed it was part of the boob to udder transformation! I'm 30 weeks now and theyre still there so i'm assuming theyre supposed to be x

hahaha. That's what they're called. I wonder who Montgomery was? I'm going to have to Google him!

I got a weird bump early on on my nipple, and showed the midwife (lucky her!!). She just said it was nothing to worry about but to come back if it got any worse. I stopped poking it and now about ummm 12 weeks later when I've just had a look (didn't you all need to know that!!!) its gone down quite a lot so I guess it was nothing to worry about.

She didn't mention montgomery tubules... might have to go look them up!! I'd ask my med student friend but I think that might be pushing friendship jsut a little bit...he doesn't need to know about my nipples! lol

Hi lauragcam
i have these bumps too.. had them from very early on.. think its normal, getting ready for feeding if we choose to.
I also wanted to ask you how you are, and if your feeling ok??? I remembered that you had to go back for a scan on 11th.. so not long to wait. Its been a long 2 weeks wait for you, so just wondered how you were. what time is your scan hun

hi i have my scan tomorrow at 2.30 so not long now, and i have been feeling pretty sick so i hope thats a good sign, i saw the midwife on friday for my first appt that was arranged before all this happened, and she said my symptoms were a good sign but she couldnt be definite, and she wouldnt book me in properly until we found out for sure, so that gave me doubts!so ill just need to keep busy and we will find out for sure tomorrow. i hope theree is a wee heartbeat, and in a way im sure there will be cause i been feeling sick but i dont really understand how the dates could be wrong, i think i should be 10weeks this weeks, and they reckned 7?? so ill just need to wait and see thanks x
