i had a sweep done today when i was at ante-natel it didn't hurt at all i was quite suprised just hope it works they say normally 2 days after you have had it done u get labour pains fingers crossed i do anyone else had one & did it work

When r u due? I got hospital tomorrow and I hoping for sweep, but don't think they will yet............? Good luck to you though, really hope it works for you!!

Oh so maybe they will then - I thought they wouldn't do sweep until you were overdue - thanks lisajane, I may just ask for one now! Good luck

i am due on sat 7 of april tooo,how exciting!!im having a boy (cant wait to meet him )i been having relly bad pains the last week or so.... i spoke too a midwife on the phone yesterday and she said they may give me a sweep tomorrow if im in this much pain i hope so .i didnt relise they would do it before your due date fingers crossed though i cant bare this pain any longer....xxx

they gave me like an internal but it didn't hurt me at all

have you had a show or any labour signs ?did you just ask them to do it or is there a specific reason they are ?(sorry just curious)xx

no show or labour pains i had a emergency c-section when i had my last child 10 yrs ago but i think it was cos they turned her i think which made me bleed

I have Group B Strep and my midwife wants to make sure i have antibiotics in time as last labour was pretty quick so im having one done at 39weeks after a dose of antibiotics.

I had a stretch and sweep with my last child and it made me go into labour immediately although i got to 4cm and all stopped! Had waters broke and baby came 3hrs later!

It does work so im looking forward to having one this time as hopefully it will have the same effect as last time! xx

it hasn't worked for me yet nothing last night i just have to see what happens today
