Some scummy loser stole my buggy!!

So thought I'd take the kids swimming, it was the first time for my youngest. Wasn't allowed to take my buggy into the changing area and had to leave it in the lobby, no lock up area, but was told don't worry, there's someone watching them.
As I was leaving, went to get buggy and it had gone! Was so annoyed. Manager was so unhelpful, and just kept saying, 'there's nothing we can do', like some kind of mantra!!
I'm annoyed with myself for leaving it. It was my new Quinny Zap Xtra. I wanted it for so long and it was less than 3 months old! I've complained and everything but even if they give me anything towards it, I'm still p*ssed that some scummy tramp has nicked my buggy! What a loser!

Feel better now I've got it off my chest! lol

Seems a bit poor to me in this day & age. Do they not have CCTV on site? Surely they don't give that same response to everybody that has something go missing.

Nope, No CCTV!!! not allowed to take buggy any further but no secure area!! AAARRRGGGHH. But there's nothing they can do! I vow to get my money back!

OMGOSH!! As if someone would steal somebody else's buggy!! Did they not leave theirs? I don't mean so you can use that one instead but perhaps so you could check CCTV surrounding the area and see who brought that one in and left with yours?

Have you phoned the police??
I bet you're so annoyed/upset!

Hiya, first I thought they took mine by mistake because there was a similar one, so I was gonna take that one. But then the owner of the one I was going to take came out, so that means someone actually stole it, didn't take it by accident or swap it! There wasn't a buggy left behind. Was so annoyed. I wanted to cry at the time cos I was angry which is why I didn't kick off a bit more. I didn't wanna stand there like a blubbering wreck! Hormones are all over the place at the moment! x

Oh yeah I did call the police and report it, got a crime number but not covered on insurance as it wasn't a secure area!

Oh no! I would be furious. I can't believe someone would have been so brazen just to walk off with it!

just read this on sidebar

some people are just scumbags. :x

i'd be tempted to call your local paper to do a story, as you were told to leave it there by staff, see if some bad publicity will make them cough up into replacing it for you. x

I still am furious when I let myself think about it!! I wanted it for so long and I really had to scrimp to get it! One of OH friend's gave me money towards it for my daughter's 1st birthday just so i could afford it. That's really what upset me about it most. xx

oh dear....i always wondered if mine would ever get stolen but thankfully my son always liked to squish food all over it and it didnt look very tempting....i also had to leave my buggy when i went swimming but i could see it through the glass....can just imagine some raged wet woman in her cozzy screamiong thief lol....really isnt very good and they must have cctv but if its the council they wouldnt want to stretch their budget. there really are some scabby ppl in this world

GC but saw this on sidebar - I always dreaded this happening when I take LO swimming! I'm so sorry hun, it must be horrible. I remember when our LOs were newborn, my friend (she has the mothecare spin) took her LO for jabs and was told she had to leave bugy outside. She could see it from the room she was in and saw this woman come up and try to take it!It's always horrified me that people could be that low so as to steal a child's pushchair. xxx

Swimming pools need to man up and provide a safe area. An electric wheel chair was stolen from our local pool! I haven't gone since just to make the point. The pool in the village next to us has a viewing area to the side of the pool, but not behind glass, just to one side, and pushchairs, ect can go there.

I am so so sorry to hear someone took your pushchair. I bet that same person would be violent if it happened to them, how can they not think how their actions impact other people.

Yes I agree, if you still haven't heard back this is defintely the route to go down

I would have been in tears if I were you. Buggies aren't cheap, and tbh I am a bit sentimental about anything do do with my DD x

Sorry but this is out and out theft and should be reported to the police - the can start an investigation and if there is CCTV it can be reveiwed and hopefully the person might be recognised - you will definately get a response after the police have turned up to question the staff!

sorry to g/c just saw this on the side.

that is appauling - sorry to hear about this. nothing is sacred these days and people think we are paranoid these days!

if it were me i would find out the name of the chief exec of the company who run it or the council who do and make a complaint to them directly. something we always do if don't get anywhere by normal routes - never failed to sort it yet!! they should be giving you whatever it costs to replace it like for like. don't let them fob you off - lay it on thick and threaten to go to the papers - see how quick they come running then!!

good luck hope you get it sorted in a favourable way. xx

I agree, if simply asking them to man up and accept responsibility isn't working get tough and get in touch with the head office or council and threaten them with publicity! The papers would be interested especially given how hard you saved to get it and how they told you to leave it there and it would be safe - cheeky buggers!

I'm so sorry - do you have a pram you can use in the mean time? Maybe borrow one from a friend?
