In short - YES! I have serious issues with this and probably don't wanna step on anyones toes by slamming my opinion down. Everyone will have their own opinion on this I reckon and I've stated mine. Don't want to start an argument LOL xx

No i agree Sazzy, i definately think men should pay up, in the end of the day its half their responsibility too!

unless you tricked them into gettin you prenant. then you are just bloody stupid. but again. they should of thought of that.

if a man does not want children he should have a vasectomy lol. or at least use a bloody condom

Lol Jaynie i absolutely agree. I cant stand men who come up with loads of excuses i.e you made the decision to have this baby. blah blah blah...when will men ever take responsibilty!
10/06/2007 at 11:46
Thats actually a difficult question. In most cases I'd say that it takes 2 to make a baby so a dad should be responsible...however if someone that wanted a baby tricked the dad then that is not fair to make them support a child they may not want and didn't expect.

I do actually know someone that deliberately went out and got pregnant on a one night stand because she wanted a kid.. and that is the sort of thing I mean.. I don't think that dad even knows his kid exists, but in that case I don't think it would be fair to force him to support a kid.

I could seriously go off on one on this subject. It's good to see a lot of you actually have the same views! xx

kia i see your point there. but i have to say. if this guy had a one night stand and did not use protection. he is a complete t**t and deserves whatever he gets!

my ex said he wanted to be involved when we broke up. then didnt contact me. but will probably expect to see my son wheneve he wants.
baby was not planned and he WILL be paying for his son. and he WILL NOT be choosing when he does and does not want to be involved.

he definately deserves to pay. w****r!
haha

that takes the bloody piss.. if you are on income support or benefits like that the government will keep money paid by the other parent to make up the benefits and you will get up to ??10 a week

I actually work for the CSA and get many different and varied opinions, not many I care about really as its my job and I actually like it BUT yes, both sets of parents should pay for their child. And believe me, there are many women who leave their kids too, its not just men! I particularly enjoy calling up the real assholes tho, eg, I had a lady who had had an affair with a married man, got preggers (not on purpose) and he dumped her. As she was on benefit, she was a compulsory client so HAD to come to us, as is the law. I contacted the "father" and he said his wife didnt know about the affair, let alone the baby and that I, ME, would be responsible for causing a divorce if I pursued the claim. I had a certain amount of pleasure in saying "Its not me who causes your divorce, it was you the moment you took off your trousers, Sir". Lol. He was a little gobsmacked but he'd been giving me shit for the entire call!! Dont get me wrong, the mother was morally wrong too but I'm not their to judge her, just to get cash to the child!!

funkyrabbit. you crack me up!
can you tell me why my mum could not pay money to me when i was living with my dad. he paid for my food and stuff but he would not give me any money for clothes or anything. and it would have been so much easier if my mum could have jus given the money to me. but she was told she couldnt do this.

What do you mean? Was your dad on benefit?
10/06/2007 at 12:36
no. he wasnt on any benefits.
when my mum moved out i went with her. then my mum got with her OH n we all moved into a house til he pissed me off and we had a fight then i moved back home.

my dad then started bein a bastard and rung the CSA bout my mum. and she wanted to give the money to me but was told she couldnt. so my dad got money from my mum and didnt spend it on me

My daft 'dad' (as he wants to be called but theres no chance in hell)...quit work TWICE when the CSA caught up with him meaning me and my sister got feck all!! And he has the nerve to ask why he wasn't invited to my wedding!!!
10/06/2007 at 12:43
oh my
what a lovely father you have sazzy!
he may be your biological father but acting like that he definately does not deserve to be called dad.

I even wrote his actual name on the evening invite! Then had the nerve to get my grandmother to ring me and ask if I actually wanted him there! Jesus! He's apparently the only one out of the 5 kids that doesn't have a job and own his own home! His wife has to work 12 hour shifts to support their family!! I say their family....2 kids...1 girl, 1 boy (each different dads altho that has no bearing here, just adding to the story to show they not his kids!). Well the girl he has tormented for years to the point she was kicked out for rebelling at 15 by smoking! The boy he worships though. There was a massive difference in how he treated both. I find it horrendous. I made sure the girls name was on the invite and thank god I did cos my grandma made sure she came!! Bless her!!
