Hi

Just wanted to say that I am also self employed and also worried about business. I run my own business providing employment law advice to businesses and have been worried about clients leaving, the fact that work has been quite quiet etc. I have arranged for an "associate" to take calls and deal with clients etc whilst I am away and I intend to get back into the swing of things by early January 2010 at the latest.

Do you have someone who can take over whilst you are away? When is your anticipated return date? Have you told your students when you will be going back so that they won't go elsewhere? Keeping everyone informed is the key so that they know where they stand.

It isn't easy and the govt certainly doesn't make it easy for self employed mums to be so totally understand where you are coming from.

Thanks for your reply. I have an assitant teacher who will take the classes whilst i am off. I plan on only taking 4 weeks off which im not really happy about but i know that ill need to. I dont want to worry the whole time im off about work if you know what i mean. I guess being self employed has its pros and cons.
