I liked 'what to expect when you're expecting', it was my bible for 9 months!

I read Myleen Class's book early on. It was easy to read and not preachy like some books.
I also buy Prima Baby mag every month. I find that covers most things.
Hope this helps

I bought Practical Parenting: Your pregnancy week by week which is a really nice book which takes you from trying to conceive, tips on health, exercise, diet etc during pregnancy. It also goes through the development of the baby and changes in your body week-by-week throughout pregnancy, which I found really interesting and informative, with lots of pictures showing how big your baby actually is. There is also a section on labour and birth, although not sure how useful this is ....yet

My friend also gave me a book called Birth and Beyond by Dr Yehudi Gordon which she said was invaluable to her. Flicking through the book at first was a little unnerving a) as it's huge and b) it's got quite a few photos of women in the throws of labour (I wasn't really into finding out about all this at 12 weeks ). But the book is fantastic, there's no information about trying to conceive but there's alot of information on pregnancy, birth, development of your baby, parenthood and a fantastic A-Z guide to health, for baby and mummy.
My friend is now pregnant with her second child so I gave her the book back and got my own copy.

Both of these books have been really useful for me

My local tesco had what to expect when you're expecting for ??5 (half price) the other day.
I've just been reading the blokes guide to pregnancy - bizarely, i thought it was good.
One of my friends also recommended the rough guide to pregnancy but to be honest, I've found the info on the internet and the book my gp gave me when i was pg pretty much all I've needed to know.

I hated the Mylene book, just found it really dull.

I have The Rough guide to Pregnancy by Kaz Cooke which is really frank and honest and a good laugh too.

I also love Bonding with your bump by Miriam Stoppard which is just a gorgeous book and makes you feel so happy to be pregnant!

Can I recommend Mel Giedroyc's book From Here to Maternity. It is sweet and laugh out loud funny. She also has written another book about life when she takes the baby home which I believe is called Going Gaga. I am going to get it next.

I had the 'Dummies Guide to Pregnany' which I found informative...OH is reading it at the moment and keeps reading bits of it aloud to me, although he knows that I have read it twice over, at least!!!

Als had 'A best friends guide to pregnancy' which is very funny but as it is written by an American lady not all the info is relevant to the UK. Okay if you want a giggle mind*

Did everyone get a book on pregnancy from the GP or Midwife cause I didn't

Vicki Iovine's Best Friends Guide to Pregnancy is brilliant. As are her guides to Motherhood and Toddlers, she's a very funny writer but also really informative.

I love What to Expect as well, loads to read!

Loved Jools' tome but found Myleene's book really wet, and her just intensely irritating. She had the most uncomplicated pregnancy known to man and she seemed to find the most to whine about that I've ever encountered, I found myself wanting to shake her and yell "Get a grip, love!". Gah. Boot saled THAT one!

The Yummy Mummy Survival Guide by Liz somebody is very good, I'm sure you can google it, my copy's upstairs and I don't want to wake DH!

I have "Expecting" by anna mcgrail and it is fab. They are midwives so it has all of the facts but it's not too clinical and has the human touch too.

I have the myleene bookwhich is no good it you're looking for facts! Hearing her cries at the fact she was nearly 11 stone at the end didn't make me warm to her! x x x

I didn't like What to Expect when you're Expecting, as it scared the hell out of me! Maybe too much information...

When I was TTC I liked Trying to Conceive by Michaela Ryan. When I was pregnant, I liked Up the Duff by Kaz Cooke.

I really liked the Kaz Cooke books. Very funny and reminded me that I am not the only woman in the world to have ever been pregnant. Made me laugh at myself, and also explained about the development of the baby which I loved x

I have got What to Expect when you're Expecting which I find is like chatting to a friend. Then I've also got Your Pregnancy Week by Week by Lesley Regan which is like chatting to a doctor! I like them both

For TTC I really enjoyed Taking Charge of your Fertility by Toni Weschler. I know a lot of people also rate Zita West books xx
