Hi, I'm 6.5 weeks pregnant and have been taking pregnacare plus (the one with omega 3 tablets too). I've woken up in the night twice with stomach pains having taken them just before I went to bed and am a bit freaked out!! I just wondered if anyone else has suffered with side effects after taking pregnacare tablets?
I would really appreciate some feedback!

I was fine with normal Pregnacare, but the very first time (and only time!) I took Pregnacare Plus, with the omega 3 tablet, I was sick - the only time in my whole pregnancy so I know for sure that's what caused it.

That said, I did take it on a nearly empty stomach which you're not advised to do.

I always take my pregnecare in the morning on a fullish stomach with a big drink. If you don't take it on a full stomach your body won't be able to absorb the vitamins and minerals and they will cause you stomach trouble. I've been taking it the whole time and haven't been ill from it at all. I don't eat very well so i'm really lucky i can take them, i'd definatly be aneamic without them.

Hope this helps

Hi, I take Pregnacare Plus and I've had no problems. I take them with my dinner, as you're supposed to take them with a meal xx

Your supposed to take them with your main meal, not before bed as it will make you sick, I also stopped taking the omega part as they were making me feel icky. See if that helps.x

I am a vegetarian and have been craving meat! I think it could be due to the extra iron that my body requires so i have started to take pregnacare! We'll see how it goes and update =)

i was taking pregnacare and i was so sick, i was taking it straight after a meal so my stomach was full, as it says to take with a meal.  after a week of taking them i was so sick and generally unwell, i put it down to morning sickness etc and carried on taking it however i decided to eliminate it from my daily routine and took just folic acid instead and my sickness slowly got better, after seeing my midwife she recommended to take pregnacare so i went back on it thinking that it must be a co-incidence, i then suffered the most awful migraines along with heaving down the toilet all day for a good 9 days, i went to the dr's etc i decided to come off the pregnacare again and the migraines have subsided and i'm starting to feel human for the first time in my pregnancy, i'm 15 weeks now and i'm taking vit d instead for now, until i see my midwife again next week and tell her my story.  lets see what she says.... basically i personally think that there is way too much iron in those tablets, if you are on a healthy balanced diet anyway, why do you need so many more vitamins, you're basically overdosing!  if we had to take them they would be issued out on the NHS if it was so important!

Hi iv been takeing pregnacare original since i foundout  was pregnant with my breakfast as it says take with your main meal but i just remember it better then and im now 32 week and had no problems with them as they say you need vitamin d thats the only reason i take them. This is my second baby and that infomation wasnt out then so i just had folic acid then and had to ave iron but havent had to have anything this time. So try the original ones iv been fine with them!!

i started taking pregnacare conception last month during my peroid and i noticed that my body itches me a lot. at first i didnt know it was whats causing it until i skipped the drugs for 2 days. now my period is out and am wondering, whats the hopla? but my cousin said she took pregnacare original throughout and was fine, she has a healthy baby girl. my sister tried the pregnacare abd now has twins!! so i guess its working. i just wish it will stop itching me so much.
