Ahhh, well i was going to be a december mum according to my midwife, she told me 11th December so i had what i thought was my 12 week scan today only to find im only 9 weeks still in the high risk stage of pregnancy. I can't complain really i have a very healthy "kidney bean" lookalike foetus, saw its heart beating and all.Im just gutted my due date is 4th Jan rather than 3 weeks b4. Means I wont be able to do much drinking/dancing on my 21st birthday on 1st Jan! lol but worst of all i got my hopes up to start showing soon but now i have to wait longer!! The funny thing is my stomache is getting hard (from under breast downwards) and all the symptoms of each week (according to pregnancy books) have been happening what i thought at the right times! Mixed emotions! I tears one minute as i feel let down and happy the next when thinking of seeing kidney bean healthy on the screen!

Aww, i know it was disheartning for you, but look at it like this... your baby is fine and it's only 3 weeks. Seems like ages, but isn't really. You'll soon be past the 'high risk' stage hun, so don't worry.

Don't worry hun. Your kidney bean could just be little for its age at the moment, you might find it has a growth spurt and at the next scan it dates later. Besides when have you ever known a baby arrive when its supposed to? They turn up when they're ready and you never know yours might decide it'd like to pop out before Xmas for you. As for showing you might be lucky and start showing early. I was only about 8 weeks when my work trousers started getting too tight for me and by the time I was 14 weeks and started telling people at work they'd already figured it out as I'd started showing. Chin up babes it'll all work out in the end :\)

Hello, Dont worry, Im the same i went 4 my 12 week scan & i was only 8 week they told me, but it doesnt work out.
As my o/h lives away from me & i only so him at xmas. Hospital told me i got caught in jan, but i didnt.
I spoke 2 midwife & she said my baby will come wen its ready & it could be on the little side.
So dont worry, U must know urself wen its due.

I am 38 wks + 5 days and have had 3 due dates given to me during my pregnancy; 21st May by my doctor on 1st visit, then when i went for scan i was given 10th June from scan pics as 'baby' was too small to be due 21st May. Then to complicate things further i started measuring large for my dates at 32 wks and the mw thought my due date was actually 18th May!!! Even now i have no idea really what my baby's due date is supposed to have been! I just hope that it comes soon! Just trust your instincts during you pregnancy, as long as it all goes ok and baby arrives healthy xx

Ah, never mind chick, i know what that feels like, the same happened to me. Because i didnt start showing with my first son till i was 4 months my dates where being constantly changed and i was told right through to be prepared for a small baby. Even when i was giving birth the midwife told me 'oh its gonna be a small one, only a 4 pounder at the most', then surprise surprise a perfect healthy 7 pounder and he came earlier than any of the dates given!!! So dont let it get to you, your the mum and mums know best!!!!
