Losing plug

I'm 15 weeks today. Hubby & I did the deed yest morning (first time in ages) and I spent all day feeling very achy around my cervix and tops of legs. Just this evening I wiped after going to the loo and saw what looked JUST like my plug in my last pregnancy (which I lost at 39+2, and went into labour at 40weeks).

Should I be concerned about this? If it IS my plug, does just happen sometimes that it dislodges? Will it just grow back?

Thanks for any advice.

hiya

its not happened to me but iv read other posts that say that this can happen and the plug reforms itself. if your worried give your mw a call. i guess it was just dislodged from Bding....

hope that helps.

Was it definitely not clumpy semen? Sorry, sorry! I had a C section and never got to see my plug, I felt quite cheated, but sometimes after sex I seem to lose a clump of what seems to be semen and maybe some CM?

Might be worth a call to your midwife tomorrow just for peace of mind, but from what I've read it does reform if it's dislodged for some reason.

Thanks girls! I think I've read somewhere that it can reform but just wanted some reassurance, I guess.

Hehe MrsS, don't apologise! - no I don't think it was semen or CM as they're always watery (for me), and this was so thick in consistency I could hold it on my palm in one wobbly lump if I'd felt like it (ew! ew! now it's my turn to be sorry!)

PS You didn't miss out on much not seeing your plug! Gianormous yellow bogey comes to mind!

Hi ptb,
i lost my plug at 15weeks this time around and its grown back then i lose a bit again.
it reforms in a day or two so i wouldnt worry unless you get some pains but do mention the loss to midwife so she is aware and also abstain for a bit as you are open to infection.x

Yeah, but I'm odd, and I love gross stuff like that!

We live in the country and DD and I have been gleefully undertaking daily inspection of a dead sheep on the side of the mountain road! It's honestly really fascinating watching the decomposition/scavenger process. DD thinks it's great.

Evening everyone, enjoying your supper?!

HAHAHA!! I think it's healthy to have a fascination with bodily workings, be it mucous plugs or decomposing bodies

Thanks for your advice Zoey, I hadn't thought about abstaining because of infection tbh, really good point! (not that I'm up to sex much, am knackered lately!)

PTB i didn't even know you was pregnant again! Congratulations! How old is your LO now? I remember you from when i 1st got pregnant last Oct. I think you was coming to the end of yours.

I lost my plug 4 weeks before i had Molly but it grew back cos i lost it again during labour.
