Has anyone else got these? Or know how to help them?

My right ankle seems to be the worst and feels like it has fluid all round it

Oh its horrible isn't it...I got out of the bath yesterday and cried as my ankles had disappeared. The only thing I know to do is keep your feet up...which isn't always practical !!!

I dont know whether a bag of frozen peas would help?

The peas will have to wait til I get home...I tried to sleep with my feet raised last night but it didn't work obviously hehe. It's just weird. I get weird feelings in my right leg too as if its about to go numb xx

I had swollen feet and ankles when I had the water infection and it hurt even trying to raise my feet. I also get this thing in my legs where i cannot keep them still and it drives me absolutely mad! Its really weird...

ahhhhh the fat ankles!! Oh what joy!!

I'm 32 wks now and they started swelling up at about 26. they have good and bad days, some are worse than others and my dearest husband has renamed me PROFESSOR KLUMP!!!!

If they swell up too much they can be really sore, my GP adviced keeping them moving (like on a aeroplane) and I also find ice packs are good. I sit at a desk all day so I keep then raised on a box under my desk.

I believe the only way to stop them is with support tights, you need to pop support tights on the moment you get out of bed, to stop gravity making eveything go south!! But I don't know about you guys but I hate wearing tights especially in this weather!!!

Tights! Arghhh LOL! I don't envy you moving house bluey - we took our house of the market cos it was stressful enough moving when I wasn't pregnant so I imagine it'd be so much worse now!! Got the house how we want it anyhoo, the princess is a little madam - her room is gorgeous!!! xxx

Yea, your ankles would be better but you'd sweat to death instead..lol...We are moving to my Mums for a few mths to save up for little one coming, then moving! I must be insane...Cant wait to do baby's rm, will have to be a bit patient tho x

Oh no...tights!!! Holdups in winter is fine...but couldn't do tights and you are right...in this weather it doesn't bare thinking about...

02/08/2007 at 06:55
Yeah I can just see it now!
Wear the tights to relieve the fat ankles and end of with a yeast infection cause ya too hot down below!!

As much as I hate the ankles I think I'll put up with it!!

I have just read a birth story and it has scared the crap outta me, so im gonna go and get ready for work so I dont have to think about that part of all of this...have a good day all of you and dont scare yourselves...x

I'd rather have fat ankles than a yeast infection! Hubby thinks its funny!! Cheeky bugger !!!

Hi ya
Well my ankles were only OK when i wasn't working during my pg, and now they are worse than ever!!! I thought they would go down after birth but they look like i've blown them up! they are just humongous now (shrek is back people!!)

Bluey- i hope it wasn't my birth story that scared u....

Just try and rest as much as possible and ive been told to sit with feet up and rotate them and do excerises as if u are peddling as this helps with the circulation. It has helped a little- but with a 7 day old baba u dont get an awful lot of rest so make the most of it whilst u can lol!
Take care and rest up

han your lo soooooo cute!!!!!!

I had swollen legs feet and ankles from about 29 weeks they were terrible by the end of my pregnancy, not a lot you can do about it really, just try and rest them when you can. I had to buy bigger shoes as i couldnt wear any of mine not my trainers or flip flops it was a nightmare, not so bad once i finished work didnt matter so much then. Cant say i envy you sazzy. They did go down after, 2 weeks after having callie they were back to normal.
