Hi ladies, have just got back from our fifth parentcraft class..it was all about techniques for crying babies and breastfeeding, so was very useful. We use the chill out room for Mums that have had babies on the ward for our classes and just as the midwife stopped talking, we heard "I can't do this!!!!!!!!!!!!" being shouted out as a lady walked past with her husband and her midwife. The midwife was panicking telling her not to push until she had got her safely into a labour suite (apparently the mum to be had been in the water for pain relief for 2 hours when she wanted to get out as she felt the baby's head) all of us Mums to be were very excited about hearing this, but nervous too! We carried on with our class, although all we could hear was screaming and groaning!!!!! Twenty minutes later the buzzer was pressed for the second midwife as the baby had been born! I was nearly in tears and I wasn't even at the birth! God knows what I'll be like at my own babies birth!!! I hope mine is that quick!!!

Scary innit! I remember going on a tour of the labour ward before I had my first and this lady was screaming her head off. The midwife just said to us that some people make extra noise to get more attention and not to worry too much. Needless to say we all went pale and quickly left the building!!!!!

Ooh crikey!

We have got the tour of the labour ward at our parentcraft class next Weds and am really looking forward to it. I will shit myself if I hear screaming though, as starting to get nervous about the birth now big style!

I've been having reflexology at our local hospital. They do it in a room on the delivery suite. Not very relaxing when you are sitting waiting to go in and all you can hear is howling and groaning! LOL

hi. i remember when i had to go into hospital with my last pregnancy, i was stood out side the maternity unit waiting for my hubby to park the car and out one of the windows from above all we could hear was groaning, shouting and grunting. even with my 4th baby at that time it still sent a shiver down my spine to hear a lady in labour. and even when i had had my little girl i was still in the delivery room and next door all i could hear was shouting and labour groans, not what i wanted to hear after just giving birth to my own baby, i wanted to forget it all.xx
