Hi
I found out I was pg last Friday at 14dpo. I have a long cycle so counting 14dpo as 4 weeks. On Sunday I started spotting and having brown discharge which was very upsetting especially as this is my second pg, first ended in a mmc at 12 weeks in Jan. The brown discharge has continued but is getting lighter and less frequent. Went to the docs on Tues and he said it was prob normal but booked me a scan at 7 weeks on 15th and ordered some blood tests. Had first blood test on Tues for HCG and second today. Tues HCG level at 4+4 was 82.5. Is this ok I thought it seemed quite low.

What kind of test did you use on friday? If you know you can know the least amount of HCG you had in your system. Most early tests you need around 25mlu and this should double evry 2-3 days so it isn't necessarily low if your HCG was just 25 on Friday IYSWIM?

Littlewolf that has made me feel a little more positive! Test was 10mlu and only got a very faint line so that would make 82.5 seem relatively ok!

Hey Muffin, anything from 20 up is pregnant! I was told hcg varies a lot. As long as it in increasing by 66% every 48 hours that's the main thing x x

As littlewolf said one HCG level isnt very useful on its own, which is why the Dr will test ur bloods over 48hours to hopefully see it increase. HCG varies from woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy. Which is why some women with higher HCG will get BFPs early and others wioth lower HCG levels may have to wait a week after their AF was due.

Well my results are somewhere between the hospital and my GPs may not get them now until Monday!

Well decided to go into the doctors with my hubby and not leave until it was sorted. Magically my results appeared and a doctor printed them off for me. It had gone up to 159 so almost doubled in two days so I am very happy! Thanks for your advice and support!

Just read your update in ttc after mc, I posted there too but couldnt see it!!

That is fantastic news im so pleased for you & hubby & well done for staging a sit in I wouldve done the same LOL!! xxx
