Hi Mel, I have no experience of using bio oil as we are just TTC, but years ago when I was about 14 I had an operation on my feet to remove extra bone growth. The Dr advised that I rub a small amount of olive oil into the scars once or twice a day to help reduce the scaring. I had a slight infection in one and I was still advised it was ok to use. Just a thought, but you should check with your Dr 1st, just in case. Best wishes to your LO for a speedy recovery.

Hi, I've got bio oil but I'm afraid I also threw out the box and leaflet. Sorry, bit of a pointless post but didn't want to read and run!

Hi Hun,

I checked the website for you and it doesnt mention babies..although says can be used on sensitive skin.

I think it would be ok to use...maybe send them an e-mail via the link below

Your poor daughter

I've actually found vitamin E oil (applied directly from the capsule) better than bio-oil for scars. When I was younger I suffered a very bad chemical burn on my chest. The doctors said I would be permanently scarred. My mom suggested I try vitamin E oil and it worked wonders - I have absolutely no scarring whatsoever. I would envisage no problems using this on a child but you are definitely best checking with your doctor/nurse as they will probably have specific recommendations about care for the wound.

Hope she makes a speedy recovery with minimal scarring

I hope your dd has a speedy recovery from her op.

Vit E oil from the capsule does work wonders for scars, I have used it myself. As it's a natural oil I can only assume it would be safe for a 7mth old but best to check.

The Bio Oil can be used for baby massage, which I intend to do when my lo is a little older (he is only 16 days and Im using an olive oil baby balm).
