I got one of the Angelcare movement and sound monitors, not sure if the movement monitoring is a bit over the top though. We got it from e-bay so it was only about ??30 and we figure that we can always switch off the movement bit if the alarm keeps going off or whatever.

I have the Tomy Walkabout Classic Advance and we have had no problems with it. It is sensitive to every move. We have been using it for the past 9 months and its great.

We had the fisherprice one as well, it was ok when Millie was tiny and in with us but when she went into her own room it drove me round the bend. The interferance on it used to keep me awake at night! We bought a phillips digital one which has been brilliant, no interferance at all. They do a basic one and then a couple of others with extra features like lullabys and thermometers.

hi i got a tommy tippie sensor monitor it has a sensor pad to put under the matress which sounds an alarm if the baby stops breathing, don't know how good it is yet but i thought it might stop me watching the baby like a halk and might actually get a bit of sleep myself without panicking x x

Hi Lucylu,

I was thinking bout getting the sensor pad one but its quite expensive.
You can get them slightly cheaper on ebay, but still havnt decided yet.

Hi All,
My second son had bronchiolitis at 3 weeks and stopped breathing due to the congestion in his lungs, we had an angel monitor which saved his life and also reasured me when he recovered that if he ever had any further problems the monitor would alarm. It also enabled me to get a good nights sleep. The monitor is about ??70-80 but worth every penny.

Carlybarley, I would just look for the cheapest digital one you can get. Phillips/Avent do one for about ??40 I think and ASDA had some of the more expensive ones (model number 498) at the same price.
