Hi glimmer, I haven't yet but if the occasion arises abnd I want a glass of wine I will have one. It's not a daily or even weekly occurance and whilst the experts say none at all the leaflet from midwife also says there is no verifiable evidence to show a small amount ie 1 -2 units occassionally does any harm. I wouldn't worry x x x

Gate crashed but when I was pregnant with ds I had the odd glass of wine. I think as long as it's not all the time I don't think it should be a problem.

When mum was pregnant with me they were advised to drink some alcohol and I turned out ok!!

Thanks ladies. my mum drank through all her pregnancies and we were ok.
I dont intend on gettibg drunk or even having a glass every week but if the occasion arises when i fancy one i may have one with less guilt this time

I think 1 or 2 occasionally won't do any harm, my mum drank guiness throughout her pregnancies and we're all fine! lol

My midwife told me that my liver would matabolise the alcohol in one very small glass of wine before it got to the baby. However, I had a couple of sips but to be honest, just didnt enjoy it. There was always that feeling of 'this is wrong' so I didnt really bother. I think every mum needs to use her own judgement really x

I've had a couple of glasses over the last 8 months and. Few sips of beer but that's it.

My mum drank guiness throughout her pregnancy with me as she was told it would increase breast milk productions!

I've been having the odd cheeky wine spritzer or a sip of beer, my manager's wife's midwife told her that having a glass of wine to unwind was far healthier than feeling stressed out all the time xx

It worries me when people say "my mum did such and such and I turned out ok".  We have a lot more evidence about these things and modern science and evidence shouldn't be ignored.

However the odd small glass shouldn't have too many problems.  I had about 3 glasses of champagne in total during each pregnancy (on 3 occasions not all together).

Modern science and evidence isn't being ignored seeing this was the advice of a current midwfie?!

2 glasses? Don't be silly it's fine! As long as it's within moderation it's fine, one or two glasses a week max. i would say but then as you get further along you wont feel the need! xx

I drank a bottle of wkd over 2 days a few weekend ago - for the sole reason I was craving it more than anything else hah! I had half a glass diluted with lemonade at the time to make me feel better as felt guilty but hubby and I relaxed and had such a good evening i'd do it again. Never felt like it in my previous pregnancy, made my stomach turn! X
