Mentioned nothing of her dad in the article though....I reckon my dad would have murdered the person who got me pregnant!! Can it be classed as raped if she consented????

yeah the 15 year old father is being charged with rape thats why they cant name them (law is the law i believe). i think my mum and dad would have murdered him too..

At 11...I'd just started my periods but sex NEVER crossed my mind!!! Maybe its different these days?? I'm gonna be crude here and apologies for this...but at 11 there surely can't be much there really can there??

Oh my god just read the article I know they say kids start earlier these days but 11. Sex was something we used to giggle at and never considered doing it.

i got pregnat fairly young by mistake when 14 but refused to have an abortion as i said i never would.i was drunk and was not really thinking.i was i love with the dad and he was 19 and surorted me. i then had my next child at 15 how was planed still with the same father. The child that i fought was going to be my last was born on my 17th b'day 17th september 2006. i am also 6 weeks pregnant with our fourth. i am also now married to the dad of all my children and if i could go back in time i would not change a thing.

God, I just read that!

Yeah, even if she consented, it's called statuatory rape or something. I can't believe that! I'm certainly not judging young mothers, but I know that at 11, I was by no means emotionally mature enough to cope with having a child! Oh well, good luck to her, I guess.

I think her excuse it lame, she didnt know cos it was her first time, kids these days know all to well & if she is willing to have sex at such a young age maybe she should have educated herself better.

When i was 11 i hadnt even started my period yet & didnt think about sex til 15 but i was fully aware of what happens if i do. I think her mother is a disgrace saying she is proud. That girl & any other daughters she may have arent gonna learn anything from this. Its a shame, she is no way mature enough to have & nurture a little baby. Its sad

well I think it's disgraceful! I mean oh my god...11?....!! tbh honest I think 14/15/16 is too young, there's just no excuse these days for not using contraption... & i'm not just talking about teenagers it's women in their 20/30's too. saying that she thought she wouldn't get pregnant hte first time? awww come on!!! why would the first time be any different? you're still having sex!! :roll:

pipsey.. yes you say you wouldn't change having your children but would you not want to shift them maybe 6 years along your life? It's great that you stayed with the dad & he supports you & that your story has turned out to have a happy ending, but there's not many turn out that way... how did you cope with a baby & a toddler whilst taking your GCSE's??

this girl won't even be in her thirties and her child will be leaving school! I know her mum wants to be supportive but I'm sick & tired of hearing mums say how proud they are!!! grrr!!!! why can't they say something like.. "well yes It's not what i'd hoped for my daughter, she'll be a good mum but I hope she's an example of what not to do..." etc!!! Let's be honest here I can't image the first words out her mouth after her daughter saying she was pregnant was "oh great news sweetie I'm so proud of you getting pregnant at 11!! :\) " but I suppose it's her way of fighting her daughter's corner.

& of course she's going to get stares!! they've gone to the press to anounce the news to everyone, she's 11.. people are going to look aren't they??

Kids should be kids, but it just doesnt seem to be the case anymore. Look around you and they all dress older and wear tonnes of make-up - im sure we wasnt like that when we was that age. A daughter of someone i know who is 12, all she talks about is b*** jobs etc with boys from school! I dont know why her mother lets her behave like that!!!

Blimey 11 years old. Ive got an 11 yr old son and it would freak me out if he was gonna be a dad at his age far worse for a girl. Also 2 daughters age 7 and 2 i think oh would commit murder if they came home at that age pregnant! its too scary to think about!

maybe her mother doesn't know?? I know they're not all mini grown ups... my friends son (11) was at school the other week and some lads from his class were asking him if he was a homosexual he didn't know what it meant...

he took a chance and said "yes", they all laughed at him then said "that means that you sleep with your sister.." :roll:

oh my god! i didnt start my periods until i was 16!! at 11 years old i think i was playing cops and robbers in the fields with my bart simpson jeans and red suede trainers! i dont even remember thinking about sex until i was 15 or something daft! let alone doing it!! i didnt have a sheltered life i think i just stayed young like kids dont seem to do these days!!! i would be mortified if my child was having sex or anything of the sort at that age! whatever happened to being a kid? xx

I know it's terrible to think of an 11 year old child becoming a parent but i disagree with the 15 year old boy being charged with rape!! If she consented it sounds unfair. at the end of the day she is as much to blame as he is!! I really don't have any sympathy for people who are that silly!! If she was my daughter i'd kill her and the father of her baby. It takes two to tango!!

I was pretty mature at 11 as puberty for me started at about the age of 8 or so and i had my periods at 10yrs old.

I'm 20 at the end of this month and i'm 28.3 wks pregnant and everytime i go for my antenatal classes i feel old. as it's full of teenagers of about 14-15yrs old that are pregnant and they are there with their parents.

I think sex education needs to be stepped up quite a bit. i was sexually active from a young age but i knew not to get pregnant and how to prevent STI;s and STD's
