Hi girls,

I was wondering if you ladies could help me please. I'm currently 6+6 and I'm really worried today as i've been feeling as sick as a dog for about a week and a half to the point where i just can't do much. Anyway i woke up this morning and realised that i feel absolutely fine. I really don't "do" sick and have been feeling miserable but now i'm really worried that it has suddenly vanished.

I called my midwife and she said its prob just my body getting used to the preg but i'm not convinced. She's asked me to call her in a couple of days to let her know how i feel. In Nov/Dec last year i had a mmc so this time around we were offered a scan at 6 weeks. We had this last week and saw a little heartbeat - it was the best feeling ever but my past just won't let me relax with this preg.

Anyway, i just wondered if anyone else had experienced anything like this with their preg still being ok?

I've still got my other preg symptoms such as aching boobs, that hasn't passed.

Please help to put my mind at rest but also advise if you think i should do anything else.

Thanks

Hi Sohappy

I completely understand why you are worried - like you said, our past experiences just don't allow us to relax and make us analyse every little thing.

My nausea started at around 6 weeks and I still get some now (mainly in the evenings or when I'm very tired). However it most definitely has NOT been consistent. I have often gone for a few days at a time without any nausea only for it to return with a vengance!

I was really worried the first few times it happened and asked my Dr about it and she said it's perfectly normal and just the fluctuating hormones. But of course that doesn't stop you from worrying.

But you can't win - when you have awful nausea you wish it would go away but when it stops it makes you panic!

I am 14 weeks tomorrow and we've had 6 scans so far where all has been well and I heard baby's heartbeat on the doppler today :\)

So you are defintiely not alone.

i agree.....with my first little boy i was constantly sick from 6 weeks till probably 26 weeks without any let up. This time i have been on and off having good days and bad days and it worrys me as i had a mmc in Nov and another misscarriage in may.....but i had a scan the other day and it showed the heart beating,

We just have to let nature take its course...but believe me im with you its worrying as hell....cant wait till the next scan now.

Are they scanning you any more before your 12 week scan???

Hi,
How are you feeling today? I too have had my symptoms come and go. It is always a worry if they disapear for a few days and it is understandable. But it doesn't mean there is a problem. If you are getting very stressed speak to your MW and see if they can get you checked, or ideally scaned.
I am sure it is fine htough.

Hi Girls,

Thanks for your replies. My sickness has returned this evening and i feel bloody awful again!!! Guess i should have enjoyed yesterday but was so freaked out by not feeling ill that i didn't!!! Its so difficult when you don't know what to expect, if this had been mentioned to me then i would have been more prepared and perhaps not have worried so much.

I'm now hoping that everything is as it should be. My mw said that they weren't planning on scanning me before 12 weeks as she thought it was just my body getting used to the preg but she said to let her know how i go in a couple of days. I'm guessing she won't do much as the sickness has returned,

Thanks for helping to put my mind at rest.

Oh I am so pleased (in the nicest possible way! lol)
It is such a worry when things change but it is quite normal. I always found the sickness reassuring.
