Daytime sleep?

Hi all, I'm just wondering how much sleep your Los have during the day. In particular the bf babies. Elodie is ebf and not sleeping much during the day and I think it may be because she goes down not completely full. I only put her down when I know she's definitely tired but am finding after putting her down when she was asleep on the boob she won't settle. On the odd occasion she has a bottle of ebm before I put her down I've noticedshe settles straight away so I think maybe she just needs to be morefull? Night tome is Nora problem. Always goes down well, but o feed heedless ages before and she's always pretty tired before. I do express in the morning bit she usually gets this bottle very early from my hubby before he goes to work. I'm going to try and give this before lunch and see if this helps her to sleep well at thattime but. It's hard to juggle with the morning feeding and expressing. Anyway would be good to hear about how your babies are doing . Oh and she's nearly 9 weeks now. Apologies for spellings etc as tuping on my phone! X

Amber is 12 weeks now, and it is only really in the last week that we have got any pattern to daytime sleeps. 2 things that have really helped me are to try and make sure she sleeps in her cot in the day not the sofa or her chair. Also, I try not to let her sleep straight after a feed. If she does fall asleep on the breast then I will wake her by changing her nappy or something. I then watch her closely and when I see signs of tiredness then I put her in her cot. She still may have 3 or 4 naps in a day but they do seem to be lasting longer. We are EBF.

I have taken some advice from the baby whisperer book, although I am not following it to the letter.

Ryans 13 weeks now and we've only really got to grips with his daytime sleeps in the past few weeks. Unless we're out I always put him down in his crib now, took a couple of weeks to get used to it, but it's much better now. I'm much better at recognising when he's tired and if he doesn't settle I lay on our bed next to his crib stroking and shushing him until he calms down. I've probably not answered the original question but my phones not letting me re-read your post x

Corynn is ff but wanted to repeat what the other ladies have said. She is 12 weeks old and only really started to get a very strict pattern to her naps in the past weeks, so maybe Elodie is still a bit little...
Anyway, her nap pattern is:
Wake up at 7am, feed and play until 8.15am and then sleeps for around an hour
Wakes up at 10am, plays, feeds, catnaps around 12noon for 15mins - 30mins
Long sleep at midday (usually around 1.30-2pm) for 2-3 hours
Catnaps in the afternoon when she wants in bouncer chair, on playmat etc, usually 20mins twice
Goes to bed at 9pm

hiya ava is ten weeks now and she isn't in a routine in the day but the last week or so shes seemed to show me more of a pattern, awake, feed, play, sleep but she still fights some of it, she doesn't fall asleep that much on the boob anymore in the day,she likes a dummy so i think thats why, shes great if shes out and moving but so far i mainly have to cuddle her if we're at home, last week i did manage to get her to self settle in her cot once, shes fine at night, she had a ebm or formula bottle off oh before bed, since 6 weeks, for the reason that we now know she must be pretty full and can let her have chance to settle down alone.
I think the key to sleep with ava is not letting her get too tired or its a bit a of a nightmare! Xx

Who invented the iron again? Yeah, thanks for that...

Thanks for your replies,
Maybe she will show more of a pattern in the next couple of weeks then, in the meantime i will aim for her bigger sleep midday and see how she goes the rest of the day, just don't want her getting overtired.

She is snoozing away now after taking her daily bottle of ebm later so i think that has definitely helped, she seems more hungry recently too and would never feed that well from me without falling asleep during the feed!
I am going to keep giving her daily bottle later in the morning now and just have to be more organised in the mornings!
On a seperate note she slept for 5 hours last night for her first stint, i hope it wasn't just due to lack of sleep yesterday daytime as i could get used to that! (her usual longest stretch is 4 hours) x x
