I guess it really depends on what you like. I really don't like the idea of P & T's with the second seat being so close to the floor. I don't want a double either as I want to get it into my small boot & get through shop doors. We're looking at these two at the moment:

http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.208-0464.aspx

http://www.twinsuk.co.uk/products/101429/Baby-Jogger-City-Select-Double-Buggy/

Both require extra carrycots, but both seats can be parent facing, which is an option I favour. We really need to go and have a look at them to decide which though. Not really got long to sort it either...

Hubby's idea was to keep the travel system we have & put peanut (snap!) in a sling-which is a great idea in theory, until s/he gets to the same size as Poppy, or we have a winter like the last one!

Plus, he's not going to be the one carrying him or her!! So, I shall be dragging him kicking and screaming to a large shop/department store to help choose  xx

Think they're both only from 6 months without carrycot so we'll have to get one (Poppy was only in hers around 12-15 weeks max too!). I'm hoping that it will be ok for bubs brefore that, although wonder if it says that because it doesn't go flat? xx

thanx dollywotsit

honeypops, i did think that then though maybe i could get the carseat too? LO was in that until nearly 8 months, although we still have our first one, i have found the zoom a hundred pounds cheaper at kiddiecare x

g/c as nowhere neaer ttc, lol. i just wanted to say piggypops-kiddicare are probably cheaper due to theri appaling aftercare service. we spent over ??????600 on our pram and when it broke (manufacting falut) they refused to fix it, charged me andleft me without a pushchair! i had to contact the maufactures to get them to contatc kiddicare to tell them it wasnt a problem i had caused! when all this was going on i had a look online about their aftercare service and came across thousands of posts saying exactly what i had experinced.
IF possible i would pay a bit more just in case of a problem.
also congratulations again! x

I was hoping that our maxi cosi would be adaptable to one or the other, but it's a creatis-fix & not cabrio, so not sure if it would work. I'm not sure it would make much difference them being in a car seat or the seat that doesn't lie flat, iyswim?

I think Hubby would prefer the Baby Jogger as hd wants us to be able to use it still when Pops is at the stage where she wants to walk everywhere...xx

If I had a second bump on the way i'd seriously be considering selling a body part to buy the new Bugaboo Donkey...

http://www.bambinogoodies.co.uk/the-pushchair-track-the-bugaboo-donkey-double-pushchair-coming-in-spring-2011/

Cam has a bugaboo and it is fantastic and the carrycots are massive (well compared to my old silvercross 3d!)

I've only emailed hubby a link to the price of the City Jogger one today, as I'd previously told him it would be around ??????500 max (ooops!) so we shall see what he has to say when he adds up the price with all the extras we'll need-and that's not including coast toes & rain covers  mind, if we get them from Tesco, we could probably use the clubcard points from the price to buy the extras, xx

we have P&T and it's fab - from the very beginning!!!! we had graco single to start with with Sam and I would not go back to that at any cost!!!! phil & teds is soooooooo easy to manouver - I know, the second seat is closed to the the road surface, but Sam is almost 3 st at 3 years and he loves either top or the bottom. Never was a fan of 3-wheeelers, but P&T does suit me perfectly!!!!! And it serves as a single once Sam decides he is a too big a boy to be chauffered around in the pram. Practicall is the key for me! Just wish we'd gone for p&t in the first place!!!xx

Think we're gearing tirades the Baby Jogger. It's quite cheap at John Lewis online (black one) & almost the same on Boots.com, the advantage being nearly ??????50 club card points from Boots (always handy with new bubba

We're going to go to John Lewis when hubby's off next week & see what we think. Either option does require a small mortgage though  Wonder what the re-sale value would be?xx

i think i like the icandy pear but its soooo expensive

i had a look at the jogger and i dont like the fact you cant have the carrycot parent facing (closest) and toddler outward, they have to be parent facing aswell which means lots of kicking of the carrycot :\(

Im thinking about the icandy peach blossom! I currently have a M&P switch which is virtually brand new, and Im put off a side by side pram cause I see so many mums struggling to get round shops with them! I thought about a P&T but our kerbs are so high that Im worried about a baby being so close to the floor!

what a nightmare!
11/11/2010 at 16:32
i had a look at the peah and its much lighter but the seats and carry cot are much more petite x
