Had a fab day today as both mine and hubby's schools were closed due to the snow! So we went sledging with the boys and put our tree up! More snow's forecast for Wed eve/Thurs morn so we're hoping for another day off together....

I wish our schools got closed because of the snow lol! I had to go out with the snow shovel this afternoon so hubby could get down the drive when he got home!
Its been snowing all day here and its supposed to keep going all week, so lovely to see outside! I will have to try and take some photos

Hope you get more days off to have fun sledging!

xx

Lol Liz, that would only slightly be taking the p! You be careful with that shovel, it's tough stuff shovelling snow!
Hope you're feeling better x

Oh wow sledging. We had about 5 mins of heavy snow and then it turned to rain. Sam didn't seem interested at all.
However we all had a day off as all the kids and oh have the flu!!!
I am knackered running around after them.

we had about 5 mins yesterday and that was it! Thought we might wake up to a covering this morning but no such luck! We don't get it often though as we are surrounded by hills, got the Malverns, Clent, Clee Hill and the north edge of the Cotswolds so we seem to miss it even though Birmingham seems to get it badly! Saw the snow over Norway on the forecast and thought of you Liz! Take care shovelling x

Well, I'm off again! Hubby's not but a few of our local schools are shut again due to the icy roads. And more snow's forecast tonight so we could
again tomorrow (even tho it's my days off Thurs and Fri)!
I'm going to try to get Alfie and Gracie to the c/m then I can clean the house and do some baking or something with Charlie. Not looking forward to driving on ice tho....now there's a title for a new TV show! Although Top Gear have prob done it already!
Have fun all x

Lucky you Ali! I need to try and clean the house today too, and do my Christmas shopping online, and bake some mince pies ... hmmm yeah right lol!!

We have to put winter tyres on our cars over here in the winter by law, I know the winters in the UK are milder than out here but they are so worth having! We actually got our first set in the UK as we came out here in the middle of November with our english volvo which was like a sledge in the snow on its summer tyres! The tyres only cost about ??40 each (which was very good for the Volvo!) and it drove like a dream in the ice and snow after that.
We have invested in some spiked tyres this winter which I am pleased about as we live in the back of beyond now and they don't put salt on the roads when it is icey!

Have a nice day off, hope you get your jobs done, and take it easy on the ice! x

I've got a bonus day off too - not due to snow but the schools heating has packed in!!!!! Max is at nursery as usual so I have food shopping, cleaning, washing, 2 application forms to fill in, baking Max's birthday cake and ironing to get done - so what am I doing hhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmm, sitting on here chatting yeah that's gonna help!

Like Jules said - we don't really do alot snow down here - though I probably get slightly more than Jules being nearer the moors.... not quite up to Norway standards though!! Liz, take care shovelling; and drive carefully Ali xx

We had about 5 mins of snow and I was out in it gritting the drive and yard at work
Have been gritting again today as the forecast reckons 5 hours of snow for us tonight... Woo-Hoo!! I LOVE snow!!

Me too Lisa!
Hubby's school def off tomorrow, yay! So if my school's open, we'll only have Charlie there and my mate's gonna take him in as she's going in to look round to apply for a job there! Cheers Auntie Zoe! (if you're reading this!)
It's 1 degree atm but we too are forecast snow from midnight lasting hours!
Bet you're laughing your thermals off Liz at us getting all excited at a bit of snow!
Me n Charlie had a great mummy n son day today...bit of shopping, baking, pizza for lunch then off to my fave coffee shop for cake and hot choc! Driving was fine, just stayed off the icy streets and resorted to lots of walking through crunchy snow! We loved it, esp Alfie who slipped twice (was holdin my hand) and laughed saying he wanted to do it again lol.

Yep, I have to admit I have been finding it pretty amusing that so little snow in the UK can cause such chaos! We get sky out here so we get the bbc news and I just can't believe the problems people have been having with only a couple of inches of snow lol!

We have about 6 inches now and it is snowing again today, all looking very pretty - and the schools are open and everyone is managing to get to work etc in their cars with no problems! =p

The streets in our town are actually heated from underneath by pipes from a local factory so no ice or snow through the town! Oslo is the same I think.

Hope you are all ok anyway that have snow and haven't had too many problems getting around. x
