Well, we looked around one this morning as all the specialists have been pushing us to give it a go.........
It's in the same place as a Sunday school, so I took him along on Sunday for the place and today we went to meet teachers and children, he walked straight in and plonked himself down with the playdough!!!!!! I was really shocked but it was great to see there wasn't too much fuss. I'm allowed to hang around until he's settled so have agreed to give it a go as I know it would do him some good to learn to be around people other than 'mum'. It will only be 1 aternoon a week but I think that's enough as we go to 2 other groups through the week!

Wish us luck

Hope all the other Los are doing well. Jules how's Noah doing at nursery now? Is he settled?

Sounds like he is going to take it all in his stride and it's great that they are being flexible with you staying until he is well settled! Hope he does brilliantly - let us know how it goes!

Life's too short to spend time with people you don't care about!

Nursery sounds like a great idea and it sounds like he's going to enjoy it. Hope you can have some 'me' time while he's there.:\)

Ah bless, i bet he will really enjoy it if he settled so quickly at the sunday school!
Its good that its only for one afternoon too as it will give you both time to adjust to the change and get ready for when he goes for longer. Good luck! x

Fantastic! Sounds great - Noahs' been really enjoying pre-school - he welled up a bit on tuesday going in after a couple of weeks off for Easter and I thought he was going to cry but he didn't he went over got his name off the desk and put it on the wall and sat down and started playing. Its nice to be back into routine as its also the first time he's been since we moved house and I think getting back into routine has made him feel more settled here. He only goes 2 mornings a week and stays for lunch. I've been wondering whether to put his name down for extra sessions in September as he'll be 6 months older by then or whether to wait til January when he gets his free sessions.
Best of luck - I hope he settles quickly and really loves it! xx

Excellent! Brendan has just started going three days a week now as he loves it so much. It has really done loads for him socially and of course meant he can now fully understand and speak some Norwegian. It is also really nice when I pick him up and they give me a picture he has drawn, or something he has made, and they stick photos up all over the alls of activities they have been doing so I can see what he gets up to!
Jacob starts in August so he will be younger than Brendan was when he started (14 months compared to 18 months old) but he is such a sociable little boy I just know he is going to love it! x

We managed a full hour with him not caring where I was before being clingy. He was exhausted by the end bless him. I don't think it went too badly and might try popping in and then hiding in the car next week. He definitely enjoyed playing and being with the other children, but I do worry that because he doesn't talk he might get left out a bit.

That sounds really positive, a whole hour and it was all new to him. I can understand your concern about the talking issue but in my experience children find their own ways of comunicating with each other. Hope the next one goes as well!
