Hiya everyone,

Im back nearly a week early from my trip back home. I had a fab time and didn't really want to leave but oh was missing us that much I came home and we are going back in just under 3 weeks I had my first night out since having Holly and omg I was soooo drunk!! Singing karoke (omg die of shame lol) And bought all Hollys 9-12 month clothes  ooohhh and a diamond ring he he its away getting resized but will put pics up of it on facebook when I get it.
Flying on my own with Holly was ok because we priority boarded and she was good on both flights but we had a terrible landing on the way there it bounced about 4 times and then slammed the brakes on so we got thrown out our seats and then thrown back into them it was very scary! However I think I was more scared than her lolol  Then because of the bad landing they couldnt get the hold open so had to hold Holly for nearly 45 mins as there were no seats!
She had her 6 month check and they are happy with her she is nearly 19lbs!!!! Hopefuly I'll get online properly tomorrow to catch up with posts, hope you and lo's are all doing well.

I was ok leaving her she was with my mum but I had to tell her off a few times for not doing as I had asked her so doubt I would leave her with her again. I said she was to have half a jar for her tea instead my mum gave her fish (wishout asking or telling me I, overheard her telling my nan) so had a go at her about that she didnt even know if she was allowed it ect.
Then when I got in from the pub I went in to check on Holly and my stupid mother decided Hollys hands were cold so draped a dressing gown around her (even though Holly had vest, sleepsuit and sleeping bag on) so I woke my mum up and asked what the hell she was playing up told her she could have suffocated or gotten tangled up in it.
Oh and then she got her up at 5 and took her out her cot to let her play (despite puttng her to bed 2 hrs after I said) and tried to give her 10ozs of watered down milk. Now I gave presise instructions on how to make a bottle up (powder was in a tub all she has to do was add 2ozs boiling water and add powder, its not hard)
Does anyone elses mums just completly ignore what you ask them to do? The more I think about it the more she won't be watching her again, I'll get a reliable baby sitter xxx

Glad you had a nice time, sorry your mum wasn't so good at doing as you asked! Sounds like what my mil would be like if she looked after Bren!
My mum is pretty good though to be honest, she looked after Bren one evening when they came over here and did everything I asked. Only thing she didn't do was put his respisense back on after they gave him a nappy change - but that was mainly because they couldn't work out how to turn it back on after turning it off!! That was my fault as I should have shown them because you have to push the button pretty hard.

Can't wait to see your new ring, how exciting! x

What a busy trip! Naughty mum, my mum and mil are good at following my instructions!
Karaoke, omg it's years since i've done it! Had to get totally tanked then wouldn't get off the damn thing! lol

Oh sounds like you had a good time! karaoke though...oh dear! lol!

Sucks that y our mum was so irrisponsable!! Don't blame you for not wanting to leave her again! My parents had Cole for a few hours and after saying htey could have him for 2 hours I relented and said they could have him for more but to bring him back at 2pm. 1.45 my dad rings and says they are still at the playground with him and were going to go home, pack up and then get a bus to bring him back! Not impressed at all with that, or the fact that they said they were staying at home and then took him round to their friends house! I haven't said anything yet but if they want him again then words will be had!!

oh dear on the mum front, i have to say i dont think id ever trust my mil looking after zachariah as she definitely has her own really wierd ideas and would much rather play with him than stick to a routine, i am absolutely dreading when she comes up to stay (oh yes it's been threatened and all i can do now is stew for however long until it happens) as for my mum she doesn't listen to everything but she's only had about 30 mins with him while i dropped oh to work and i'm not too keen on handing the responsibility over to anyone yet tbh, the only problem with her is things that used to be alright in 'her day' she sometimes poo poos when i say it's done differently now.
i think baby sitters are a better option in some ways because at least you know they'll follow your rules as family think they can do what they want as babe is their flesh and blood too aaaarrrggh just another thing to worry about !

well my mum does follow my instructions but also does little things like she said when she had him other day whilst they were eating he was watching so she offered him some food... it didn't really bother me cause i know my mum knows what shes doing, she teaches reception kids and was a childminder for years plus having 3 kids so she knows more than me and shes much more chilled!!! also i can't believe i do it but fin does get left every now and again in day with me little brother - he is 22!!! he's sooo good with him and plays with him non stop takes him for walks and gives him a bottle.. hasn't yet fed him but i can't even do that at the mo!!! lol - but fin is sooo happy when i go get him you can tell he's had fun, (if i do leave him with bro its only for about hour max if i need to do something urgent)

well hubbies dad and partner (girlfriend person - she's 60 so girlfriend doesn't sound right) have had fin for one night - but i was soooo worried couldn't relax... i gave them set instructions and just said follow them and you'll be fine... THEY DIDN'T!!!! it's annoyed me so they haven't had him since but they asked the other day when they could have him again.....

xxxxxxx

It really winds me up when people dont follow simple instructions. If your unsure I dont see why they dont just call and ask (thats the way I feel about my mum anyway) Im sure she purposly doesnt do what I ask. GGGrrrrr

Oh dear - well when I had my eldest I had to rely on my Mil as she looked after him whilst I went back to work.

I used to tell her what to do and I would get back to pick him up and he would be in strange clothes!!! When I asked she told me they were my oh and what he had worn as a baby and she thought William would look like his dad in them!!!!!!! God knows what else she did during the day.

I had to try and turn a blind eye and just think that she loved him and would never let any harm come to him as I needed to work.
She has offered to have Sam when I go back in September - but thankfully we can afford nursery this time. Although there is a lot to be said to being with people who love you no matter what strange habits they have. Plus your mums all bought you up and they made a good job so they can't be all bad can they????

I left my parents with a big list of instructions...and if they have him again then it'll be even bigger as now Cole has 3 meals a day I'm getting a bit more organised. I'm sure they'll be asking for him again and I will be telling them that I don't see why they should when they can't respect my wishes with bringing him back at a certain time.. I'm sure my mother will lecture me on how he'll be safe with them and why am I bothered etc etc but I'll just cut her off! They have to respect my wishes as he's my son!! I'm dreading it more when he;s older actually as I'm not having her being like she was with me and she is certainly not smacking him!!

Kerry... what on earth was your mil doing keeping baby clothes for that long!!! Omg thats hoarding!! It annoyed me when the inlaws brought Cole an outfit 'to look like grandad when he's fishing' ... lets just say he won't be wearing it unless he has no other clean clothes.. I want him to look like him and not a 50 something year old man!!

Think I'm too much of a control freak to turn a blind eye to anything!

My mum is trust me!! She knows what annoys me and windes me up and goes out her way to annoy me. If I say something is black she swears blind its white and wont rest until Im made out to be the baddie. Then gets on the phone to my relatives and anyone who will listen slagging me off, putting me down ect so yea mine is that bad lol

I really hope Holly doesnt feel the same about me when she is older but then again I deffo have better parenting skills.
Your say
