G/C but I learnt about nutrition at uni, and apparently these ready prepared fruit smoothies contain a lot of natural sugars due to the process in which they're prepared. It's a lot better if you prepare your own and drink them straight away. Although that's prob too tine consuming with a baby. Xx

Maybe you could add a bit to boiled water for her to try!

Hi Jubilee,

Funnily enough I was wondering the same thing as my MIL got some for DD at the week end. I wouldn't necessarily give them as a drink but mixed with porridge for breakfast for example should be fine.

A word of warning though: Millie was constipated, so I gave her some juice, only twice and in small quantities (1 oz each time) and we had a serious case of diarrhea as a result! It didn't last, but it shows that a tiny amount can really change things!

I now mix fruit puree (which can't be very different from smoothies?) to her cereal to avoid constipation.

I went out for a coffee with my mum last week and she got him a kids smoothie. It was 100% fruit pulp and came in a pouch like the plum baby food. He loved it! He had been off his food for a week and it was lovely to see him open his mouth wide to let me pour it in. I can't see it being any worse than a jar of fruit as far as sugar goes but I wouldn't put it in a bottle. Maybe just an oz or 2 in a sippy cup. But in saying that it was ??2.50 so I won't be buying more in a hurry! I'm such a skinflint!
