Have you ladies got one yet? I'm off to boots tomorrow with the SD card from our camera (hoping that I don't somehow manage to wipe it) to make cards for my OH and dad, and I guess my OH's dad as well. I'm hoping they'll do something that I can use as a gift too, not sure what...also going to buy some paint and attempt to get Benjamin's footprints on the cards

So anyone got any fab gift ideas they'd like to share to inspire me?? Preferably ones that I don't need to send away for since I've probably missed all the deadlines by now!

Asda do some great photo gift ideas. For my dad and my fil i've got the both a mug with a picture of all their grandkids on (for my fil it's just my 4 as they're his only ones) DH has got one too with all our brood on. They're not overly expensive either. Asda do t-shirts, jigsaws, mouse mats, keyrings etc all with any pic you take in or upload on their website. (I sound like I work for them, which I don't :lol
I've gone down the usual dvd cd route and the stuffed toy option before.
I also make my own father's dad card. Last year it was a pic of the 3 wise monkeys, each one represented by one of my kids. Not sure what to make this year with 4 of them

There was a little girl, who had a little curl, right in the middle of her forehead. When she was good she was very, very good, but when she was bad she was horrid.

I have made a card with Finley's footprints on it and I am going to frame hubbys favourite picture of Fin. Simple but I am pretty sure he will love it. He is soooo excited about his first fathers day.

It's our wedding anniversary, dave's birthday & father'day all within a month of each other so from rhea for dave's birthday I got a mug that says daddy's little girl on it & space for a picture that u can change, got it out of clinton's. Then for our anniversary as didn't no wot to buy got him a leather wallet that has a little electronic photo album that slips inside it & got an address book with a pic of all 3 of us in it ( it arrived 2 days after ordering) & they had loads of things like photo cufflinks, mousemats, wallets. For father's day I got dave a mug that says daddy & a teddy that says I no I'm very little but I love u lots & lots. I like that footprints idea though

Great idea with the footprints. Wif have you already done it? How difficult was it?

It was a bit tricky.

I held Fin and i got my sister to paint his feet. I would the place his foot on the card and my sis gently pressed his toes down to make sure we got the whole foot.

I made sure that i had a bath ready for him to get into afterwards but I left him in his vest and nappy and so got covered in paint when taking his vest off. I would definately say put your LOs in just a nappy before you start.

The card looks great but I did have to do several to get one fab one.

What type of paint did you use Wif?

I used a non toxic poster paint from wilkinsons.

Last year I used a company called The Keepsake Co (www.thekeepsakeco.co.uk ) & did a mug from DS1 with his handprint on it. Rather than using paint you get special wipes & paper which is a bit easier & definitely less messy than paint!!

I'm pretty sure you can buy just the wipes etc (Magic Prints Kit) from the company or on eBay.

We've just done the footprints & to be honest it wasn't that difficult - I did it after Benjamin had just fed so he was very placid & just kept him in his bouncer. I used some cheapy kids paint from smiths and literally just painted it on and held his foot against card, making sure the toes each got pushed down. The hardest bit was getting all the paint off. I wiped the majority off with a cloth then the last specks between his toes etc, I put his foot in my mouth and sucked off! Maybe sounds a bit gross but it was definitely the easiest way...I made those toes, I know where they've been!!

Ruth putting him in a bouncer was a great idea, wish I had thought of that.
