I have no idea where this has come from but I feel totally unprepared for this baby all of a sudden I only have 3 weeks left in work which means only 3 pay days and as i'm not entitled to anything I am really worried.

This is what we have so far.

6 drawers full of baby clothes (babygrows and vests), mainly 0-3. Some new born, 3-6 and 6-9 months

We have bibs, muslin squares, socks

Cot, bedding, mobile, pram, car seat, changing unit/mat, bath, towels.

4 packs of nappies, wipes, nappy sacks, toiletries

What I need to get

Hats
we have hardly any outfits what so ever
mittens
booties
paint for the nursery
and things for my hospital bag..........

Why do I feel so unprepared?

Megan Lily-May 12.10.03 7lb 1.5oz 10:33pm our Sunshine baby
Cai Nigel-John 22.01.10 1lb 9oz 3:45pm our Angel baby
Abigail Jacqueline-Rose 21.08.11 6lb 7oz 9:47pm our Rainbow baby

good grief!!! I've no idea. if you're feeling unprepared, I should feel beside myself. So far I have baby socks and a baby bath- both of which a friend leant us. I've done NOTHING to prepare so far!!!

I reckon it's probably natural for us all to feel a few 'OMG!!!!' moments- regardless of what stuff we've got. I wish my mini-panic's would kick in though, or my kid might go naked for its' first year!!! I just keep thinking, 'I've got AGES!!!'

Don't feel bad torch, I too have little panic mos where I suddenly think OMG we haven't got that yet, or when are we actually going to do some of the all essential room preparations. We've painted and put the new cotbed together, placed some bedding into it though still need to complete this. Also plan to move DD into this room, set up monitor, move us into neighbouring room with moses basket, unbox some of the old neutral clothes we have from when DD was born and sort out toy storage so not so much on the floor. Feels like a lot to do and little time to do it. Guess I should get off here and get my rear in gear

Hi hun,

I'm pregnant with my 2nd and I can tell you that its normal to feel panicky that you must have everything before the baby is born but in fact you need very little. This time around I know all I really need is:

Car Seat, Moses Basket and bedding, Bottles + Steraliser, bath support a few white baby grows/vests, nappies, and the little bits like bibs etc.

When I was having my daughter I was insistant that I had a going home outfit for him/her and my bags packed with all the washed and ironed clothes. I went into labour early and hubby had to go and buy tiny baby clothes that we just put straight on her and friends and family bought LOADS! of outfits (most of which I took back and exchanged lol).

Anything you have forgot you can always sent someone to get for you !!!

Try not to worry !

I have SO much to do before baby arrives!
6 more weeks in work, sitting room to paint and decorate. Clear out spare bedroom/study and turn in into a fabulous nursery, make current nursey into office. clean out the hell hole that is our downstairs store room, at least 1 carboot sale, repaint the store room and set sofa bed up in there. get up in the loft and get all the baby stuff down, wash all the newborn baby clothes, get to the shops and buy all the baby stuff i need. In the meantime I have a toddler to look after and hubby has a book to finish, 100 exam papers to mark, and end of term reports!

Aargh i thought it would help to write it all down, but instead I am now panicking too!!! probably should get up off the sofa and do something then!!!

hope you feel better nor cos you are MILES ahead of me xxx
