Hi Just wondered what everyone thought of the nappy disposal units? I wasn't particularly fussed about getting one, thought I would use nappy sacks and put them in our main bin but my brother said they were a god send because it stopped the smell. They have one in Mothercare at the moment with 6 cassettes for ??36.99

Are any of you getting one/had one and what did you think? Did you use it much?

I got the Angelcare one, still use it now with my nearly 2 year old. The cartridges are expensive, but it saves me having to take the nappies out to the bin every time. Not an essential, but a nice luxury.

I have one too, it was wonderful for during the night! It meant no night time trips to the big bin. It does stop the smell just make sure you wash it out and empty regularly. It's totally worth the money! I only bought one last time, but think I'll get another so I can have one upstairs and one down.

Like Cornetto said, not essential but a lovely luxury!

hi had never heard of these but was a bit worried about taking individual nappies to the outside bin...just thought id have to do it, never thought about night time!

Have had a look on mothercare website and really thinking about getting one. We have a tiny house which i think makes it more important. Id still make the effort to go out in the day...

can i ask does it shrink wrap each one as it drops into the bin? So im guessing you need to put a liner in the bin or at least regularly bleach it? How much do you spend on refills?

The one I posted the link for wraps each one in a twisting motion so when you empty it it's like a long line of sausages! The refills don't look that expensive either, just a case of shopping around. Think it will be my luxury buy

Hey Alfie222,

The way the bin works is that you have to buy refil pods for them that already have the liners inside. As you put each soiled nappy in the bin, the liners wrap around the nappy as you force it in the bin. I'm presuming you clean the bin after each change of refil! Make sure whatever brand of bin you buy that you can buy the refil pods easily enough for them as my sister made that mistake and could only get her refils from Argos which was a pain.
