.....that I don't know anything. Like how often the baby will be sleeping or need to be put down for sleep at night, how often baby needs feeding and how much milk to give them. This is what happens when you don't have antenatal classes and only read baby books up until Labour stage! Think I'm going to have to do some serious reading and research over the weekend

Ohh, I haven't really read any of that. I'm working on instinct. I gather for the first few weeks you try feeding when you're not sure what's wrong, let them sleep when they need to and use the opportunity to grab some sleep for yourself! At the very beginning I'm going to let her sleep in the moses basket in the lounge at night while we're still awake, then transfer up to our room later. We'll all be fine!

I'm feeling pretty much the same now  have read all the books but still feel like 'oh my god what do we do when...?' luckily my sister is a specialist baby and childrens nurse and my sister in law is a play specialist at Sure Start so they have a lot of advice for the basics of feeding, bathing, dressing, sleeping etc.
We have had a nightmare getting into antenatal classes where we live but finally secured a place this Sunday on an all day ante natal workshop bonanza(hope I dont do my usual and fall asleep for a nap around 3!) its at the sister hosp to where im booked in and has a swanky new patient hotel where you can stay with your partner and new baby..but we chose the other as it has specialist units and my sister works there and is hoping to be on shift when go into labour
Im sure we will all be fine, its going to be trial and error for many of us first time mums I'm sure!

G/C i'm from BIN 2010 and just wanted to reassure anyone who really is freaked out as the weeks are quickly passing. You can, and will all be amazing mummies and whilst you might feel youve no idea what your doing, your baby will lead you as will your midwives and health visitors. the first weeks are hard, dont beat yourselves up if you dont feel like the yummy mummy on day 10!!! Take any offers of help as this gives u time to rest and enjoy your babies. Good Luck to all xxx
