Dehydration in evenings & peeing hourly through the night - HELP!

So ladies, I know that the peeing is usually rife at the start and at the end but know that it is meant to ease by now.

I drink enough throughout the day but in the evenings I am particularly thirsty and can't help but satisfy it and am then up pretty much every hour through the night which although I get back to sleep straight away, it's making work the next day very hard particularly in the afternoons.

Yesterday I tried so hard to drink more in the day so could lay off anything in the evening but it was no good I was so thirsty I had to have 3 glasses of water before bed.

I know I'm peeing because I'm drinking so much so I know it's unlikely to be a water infection and I have no other symptoms but is there anything I could do before I speak to my midwife, I honestly can't do this for another 4 months!

Also I'm not eating salty foods or anything that would make me even more thirsty, I'm trying everything

xxxxx

Hi PBubs,

I don't have any really helpful advice, but i was like this in the early weeks, drinking like a fish and always on the toilet, but after afew weeks it did control itself and i stopped feeling so thirsty and im fine now, i do have moments when my thirst returns and it starts again but it does settle down.

I would see how you go on and if it continues speak to your midwife or doctor.

Sorry for not that much help, but i understand your fustration.

I've been the same for the last week or so- ridiculously thirsty. I dont normally drink water (other than at the gym or in the summer when out and about) but its the only thing thats cut it and I've been drinking glasses at bedtime. And up several times a night as a result. Also the weird weird dreams dont help!!! x

I'm thirsty in the evenings but don't allow myself anything after 8pm as I hate having to get up in the night!!
This seems to work, I pee about 1am and that's me till 8am!
Probably not the right thing to do but I drink lots during the day and spend a lot if time on the loo so not dehydrated or I wouldn't be peeing.

Also have cravings for Vimto which is a nightmare as I live in NZ and there's only I shop that sells it and it's ??2 a can!

Could u try not drinking? Or would that stop u sleeping?

Probably best to tell your midwife just incase it's a sign of gestational diabetes, sorry don't want to worry you!

I find I'm probably not drinking enough but water seems to make the heartburn worse and doesn't help the bitter taste I can't seem to get rid of! Have you tried ribena Phatsue if you can't get vim to? I live on glasses of milk in the evenings!

Love Ribena but can't get that either!! Nightmare! They don't really do diluting juice over here it's weird.
Braved 120kph winds today for a can of vimto!!

Yes I'm going to contact the midwife just to check.

I've tried not drinking but it's no good I'm gagging for water and drinking 2 glasses before bed is all that satisfies it!

Last night I managed to go from 10.30am to 2.30am without peeing but then up another 4 times before 7.30am but it was an improvement!

Keep you posted!
