Hi All - re: Clary Sage Oil

Just wondered if anyone has tried this when they have been overdue? I've heard about adding a few drops to a bath or rubbing into bump - not neat tho - but in a carrier oil, would baby oil work if I mixed the both?

Anyone used this?

Hay g/c from dis.my sister used this when she was two days late and 5 hours later she was in full labour.if you put it in the bath mix it with some milk and it will mix with the water rather than just sit on the top.You can mix with shower gel.you can use baby oil but if you have olive oil or sunflower oil that you use for cooking that would be better.

Hubby got mine from a health shop, also got some almond carrier oil for the massage too. Had a few drops mixed in with milk in my bath tonight. See what happens. Am willing to try anything now I must admit!! Zxx

G/C from DIS but most essential oils and carrier oils you can get from Holland and Barretts or Likisma. They will vary in price depending on the oil and how easy it is to extract from the source (i.e. lavender will be fairly cheap whilst you can expect vanilla, jasmine and rose oils to be on the higher price tag). different carrier oils will also take longer to absorb into skin (grapeseed or almond will be different to jojoba). Also bear in mind that oils in pregnancy should be used in half dilution and not at all during 1st trimester. If bathing definately mix with carrier oil or milk as if left sitting on top of water you will burn those delicate bits (and I do mean burn, ouch!!)

Good luck ZLS,

I remember you from the other board. I am a firm believer in oils (my mum is an aromatherapist) so fingers crossed it might just be the gentle gee up your little bump needs.

Other tricks to try - curry, raspberry leaf tea....

Looking forward to reading your BA soon.
