TMI Alert... Brown...

discharge... I am 9 weeks today and had an early scan last week and all was perfect but this evening we went out for dinner, when we got there I went to pee and noticed a few small brown spots in my knickers. It freaked me out. Then walking home an hour later felt a little wet rush (sorry for TMI!) got home and there was more brown (milky coffee like) discharge.

I am absolutely freaking out, it looks so much like the constant sporting I had with the MC in the summer. I am in bed resting and hoping it is nothing but slowly losing my mind!

Has anyone else had this/similar?

They do say you're usually fine as long as its not bleeding with cramping. You're right to take it easy, though. But I'm not even going to bother saying "try not to worry" xx

Hi CeeLou

Sorry no experience to offer, but I think I would call the midwife this morning to discuss it. Take care of yourself.

Sending you best wishes and support.

Hi Chick

I am gate crashing from DIJanuary, but thought I'd share my tmi brown experience with you.

I had something that sounded like this at 17 weeks, they couldnt find an infection but as my cervix was shortening they put me on antibiotics and that fixed it, within a day it had stopped and my cervix had lengthend by a whole 10mm, so scared and worried at the time though, as I had some cervix removed a few years before for a cancer scare I was sent to the gynea clinic they classed it as threatend miscarriage, but by then it was all fine and baby is due in 10 days x

You should get it checked if its still happening as it may mean infection which obviously you would need clearing up. Hope its cleared up by itself x

Thank you sooo much for G/C'ing JMpappon!!!! I had a procedure on my cervix a few years ago and I am currently waiting for a referral to a specialist team to monitor my cervix during my pregnancy.

As of this morning, it seems to have stopped, but if I see anything today or in the next few days I'll call the midwife and see if they can expedite my referral or see a gyne at the hospital.

Fingers crossed it is -nothing'

Ceelou, hope you're ok. I would ring the midwife anyway if I were you, perhaps they will put your mind at rest or check you over. Good luck x

Hi
I had spotting every day from weeks 9 to 14 including a heavy bright red bleed at 12 weeks. It was an ivf pregnancy and i had 2 treatments on my cervix a few years ago.
Good luck x

Glad to share, when they monitior the length of the cervix they just have to do an internal scan and measure so nothing too hideous, at its shortest at 17 weeks mine was 14mm when it should have been over 30mm by that stage, when I went the next day for a stitch it had grown to 24mm, so that was why they put it down to infection as it grew overnight after starting the antibiotics. No probs since then. Glad yours has stopped by itself it is so worrying, your body is so busy doing this amazing thing but really you have no control over any of it, as much as I enjoy being pregnant, I cant wait to have my baby here safely in a see it and touch it sense, i am a bit of a control freak

ring GP and make an appt for the morning, it could just be an infection that u need antibi's for. I had a cone diathermy biopsy on pre-cancerous cells covering 2 3rds of my cervix a cpl of yrs ago and they now monitor the length of my cervix around 23 wks I think it is.

I would call the midwife straight away too (although maybe because I've not got much experience of pregnancy yet). I would rather get advice than sit at home and worry. Take care.

My mum told me she had bleeding when she was pg with my brother right up to 5 months. It was because of a low lying placenta and she went on to carry him full term and everything was fine x

Hope you're ok. I had to go to A&E last week as bleeding heavily. They did blood tests and all was ok so sent me home as they couldn't do scan till next day. Scan thank god showed heartbeat but it was a worrying time. I'm still bleeding although a lot less and midwives just say try not to worry it can happen in early weeks.
