Hey
Well i was doing a bit of keep fit before i got pregnant on a tuesday and wednesday the wednesday one is far too stremnuous for me to do now as its steps, machines, stamina etc and it killed me when i wasnt pregnant! Tuesday night one however was more like a light dance class a lot of older ladies go and instead of doing excercises on the floor we do them on chairs etc but its a nice lil workout makes ya feel better just an hours worth so do you ladies think im safe to go? I cant do aqua aerobics yet as i still have the cast on my arm and i cant get it wet lol! If u do think im safe to go will i tell the instructor that im pregnant? It's confusing do wanna go as it will be nice for me to get out and i enjoyed going before Wont lose weight obv but may help maintain weight lol!

I would think it would be ok but would check with your midwife first and like you said tell your instructor.

I was training for a marathon before i got pg but gave up running almost straight away when I found out.

I have started going swimming and walking to get some fresh air and am really enjoying it

When I went to see my midwife saturday she said how important excercise was and advised pilates, yoga and aqua natal classes and she just said to check with them before that excercises are suitable for pregnant women, she said most instructors will advise when to sit out.

She just stressed how important it is not to lie flat on your back as the weight of your uterus plus baby puts pressure on a main vessel.

I would say go for it xx

i was a regular runner as well as doing belly dance and had just started pilates before pregnancy. i have toned this way down to just power walking now. i was adamant that i would maintain my regular exercise schedule, ie 3-4 times a week but to be honest ive really been struggling. the nausea and exhaustion (and sometimes the weather) has made me average only once or twice a week now. im a bit disappointed cause i was so determined to do more but its been harder than i thought. i def want to sign up for either pregnancy yoga or pilates in a few weeks though and kick up the walking to a more regular schedule when i regain some of my normal energy.
