Hi does anyone know if you can take a baby carrier onboard aeroplanes. My son and daughter-in-law are planning to fly to England in December when their little one will be
a few weeks old, the info on Ryanair FAQ confusing.

By baby carrier do you mean a baby sling or a baby car seat? You should be fine with a sling/carrier, but your son and daughter-in-law will have to book a seat for a baby in a car seat. Their baby would really be better lying flat during a journey if possible, as too long spent sitting semi-upright in a car seat can cause respiratory problems in newborn babies. It may be worth e.mailing Ryanair with your query.

Hi thanks for the reply and advice, yes it was a car seat but due to your advice will now look for an alternative, it is a very short trip, however the babies health is of utmost importance. thanks again

We flew to Australia when our daughter was a couple of months old and she slept for most of the way on my lap. Was happy & content for the whole journey to the relief of all around us! I think to use a car seat you just need to get it approved by the check in desk
