Have your cycles been affected by the stress of ttc?

Hello,

As the title says really, just wondering if any of you have had irregular cycles or periods (heavier bleeding, lighter bleeding, bleeding between periods etc) since you have been trying to conceive.

I have been tracking my cycles for over 1.5 years and they have always been regular to a degree but at the moment I am on cd38 and a few months ago I had a cycle lasting 37 days. This is quite unusual if I look at how long my cycles usually are.
Also, my periods have got really heavy (TMI but when I stand up gravity kicks in and it's like someone is pumping blood out of me) and I've had issues with bleeding between periods.

Doctor says it's an hormonal imbalance causing it and I've read that stress can play a part in this so was wondering if the stress and constant thinking about ttc is the underlying cause.

Have any of you had this at all?

Hi Claire-ski

Thats a very good question you've posted. My visits from af have been very regular since coming off the pill in Feb 07 (28 days and nothing out of the ordinary from what I can remember from coming off the pill in the past) but for the last 3 months I haven't ov-d and they've gone a bit wappy, from 32 days, 30 days and 26 days. Plus the bleeding has been quite heavy for the first 2 days then tails right off to a dribble (sorry if TMI!!!). So I'm guessing the irregularity has something to do with that, but if stress has caused the cessation of the ov-ing I don't know why because I don't think I;m any more stress now than before. However, its a good point and I will try and be more relaxed from now on.

I think for us stress is definatly stopping us from conceiving, my periods are quite normal for me though so at least they havent gone haywire.
Taking EPO is good for balancing hormones and regulating cycles.

yep i think it does.
with me theres other things going on too but i'm sure it doesn't help.
i've probably only had 4 af's in a year.
it takes its toll on my hubby too. i know sometimes when i do pick up i'm ov and i tell him he can't quite get there if you know what i mean. and he never has any trouble any other time.
