Abnormal sperm letter

Evening ladies

Just a quick question. We are just starting investigations at the ACU and HB has done his sperm sample and he has received a letter today saying that his results were not normal and he will need to retest again in 12 weeks. It is a bit strange as he was tested a year ago and all was fine. Has anyone else had one abnormal result and then the next one has come back normal or vice versa?? He is really worried as we weren't expecting anything to be wrong with him......

Thanks
D xxx

I have read a few girls on here have had similar things for various reasons, sometimes it was a little outside times getting sample back or in one case the sample was cooked on the chair in the sun on the way to the hospital, how is his diet has it changed at all since the last one because that can have an affect? Do you know what was up with them? Presumably you will be able to go and speak to them about it xx

I wrote a reply but BE ate it - basically wanted to say that the same thing happend to us, and DH's letter said he needs to take Zinc and Selenium - and everywhere I read says selenium is important, I found it in Sainsaburys for around ??4, bottom shelf in the vitamins isle under the vitamens - a white and gold box, there are too types, I got the type with added zinc. I think DH's bad result was due to his one night heavy drinking the week before (it never happens). Anyway I also read that sperm takes 75 days to regenerate, so whatever you do today, you will only notice the effects after 75 days - good luck - we test again this month.

Thanks for your replies.

Socks - actually since the first time our diet has improved loads, I am veggie anyway so we eat tonnes of veg etc. We have also tried to cut down on drinking but could do better. At least this is going to spur us on to do that!! Just after he was tested the first time I got my BFP before my MC so obviously working then (although still took a year). I'm not sure this is much comfort a year later...

Thanks for the tip Tammybee I'll be off to Sainsburys, that's exactly what his letter said although I already have him on multi vits and zinc so we are halfway there. Good luck in your retest xx
