I have a lounge/ dinner so we set the pool up in the dinning room end. As long as there is room for the midwives to get around you and a flat surface (a table or draw top) that can act as a resuscitation area in case of emergency any room is fine. But if you have steep or twisted stairs they might like you down stairs as it might be difficult for them to get you down in an emergency.

Mommy to 5 wonderful waterbabies, 3 born at home, all breastfed and 2 worn
I believe everyone should be supported in whatever they choose to do!

I'm going to go for the living room, most likely. There's lots of things to lean on, and a huge comfy sofa, and enough floorspace that I can move about if I want. Or the bathroom, if I end up wanting water on me (don't think it's likely)

I am thinking of the living room, especially if we get a birth pool, also we can watch TV with the kids so it stays relaxed. Its also close to the kitchen, and our new house has a toilet downstairs. x

My house is so tiny, we're going for the Kitchen / dining room as its the only option really. I may move to the bedroom though? xxx

I had planned to have a waterbirth at home in the living room with my son but my mw said there wasnt enough time to fill the pool with water when she got there so I ended up staying in the bath - though we had a big bath.

This time round Im insisting that the pool is filled!! Our bath tub (we've moved since the last birth) is way too skinny and small. So it will be set up in the dining room and there is a sofabed in there for me to hop on to afterwards if I need stitches again (hopefully not this time!), or straight to bed for family bonding and bf etc.
