Hi Ladies

My name is Lisa and I am 14+1 eith my 4th pregnancy and I plan to have a home birth this time around. I had hoped to have a homebirth in my 3rd pregnancy but when my waters broke they were green so I had to go to hospital

I am a little bit nervous about homebirth as is everyone but think it would be something ncie to try and I ammhoping to be more relaxed at home than in hospital

Hiya , im also thinking of a homebirth as this is my second baby am slightly nervous about something going wrong but i really dont want to give birth in hospital so my only other option is midwife led birthing unit which carries the same risks as homebirth doesnt it

my midwifes have told me that they wont stitch at home though so worried if i need stitches will still have to go to hospital so defeats the point xx

Hi Lisa, you will definately be more relaxed at home and the chances are that your labour will be relatively quick anyway. My 4th baby is 6 weeks old and from being 5-6 cm at 23.45, he was born at 00.37. It was my 2nd home birth and the midwives kept saying how relaxed and calm I was. It definately makes a difference being in your own environment and puts you in control of your labour. I am probably quite wierd but I have enjoyed my last 2 labours at home so much!!

MummyLintern2be - I hasve just replied to your other post, why won't your midwives stitch at home? Anyway as I said, even if you do have to go in it doesn't defeat the point at all as the birth is the main thing and you will always think of your home birth as an amazing experience and the stitches just a slight inconvenience after. x

ARG4: A quick labour is what I am worried about lol... My first labour was horrendeous and long, my second labour: first contractraction was at 720pm, but was not painful was just tightenings after an hour I phoned up me dads wife and said look I am fine at the moment but think I am going into labour so you can wait and see and hope that I dont call you at silly o clock in the morning or you can come and get my son now just in case. Within the half hour it took her to get there contractions were comin along well and she told me I should go to the hospital. I said no cause this is what it was like with my first and I dont wann be there for hours, so she stayed and had a coffee to see how I progressed, after the coffee she insisted I went to hospital. By the time I had bin examined I was told I was only 3cm and did I want pain relief I said yeah cause its only 10.50 and I got hours left yet... my daughter was born at 00:14!!!
With my 3rd I had to go into hospital even though I didnt have any contractions by the time I got to the hospital I was having contractions was admitted at 1:30 and daughter was born at 4:24
So as you can imagine I am brickin it this time round lol.. x
