Hi, not sure where was best to post this, but hope some of you can share stories.
Im due to have my 3rd child at the end of march, and I know this is going to be my last.
He will be delivered by c-section like my previous 2 children, so Im thinking of asking to be sterilized after they have delivered my baby while they already have me open.
Just dont fancy more surgery after getting over 3rd c-section, and dont want anymore children.
My midwife says I can have this done if i tell my consultant at next app, I was just wondering if anyone else has had this done, or is thinking of doing it.
I guess im hoping someone is gonna say they have had it done, and it was a success!!
Sorry for the long post girls

Hi there, I had my third child by c section in Nov. As it was my third child and third section my mw almost told me to get sterilized!!! I tried to get more info on it but couldnt really find any. Anyway, even altho I knew that this would be my last child I just felt that I was too hormonal to make that decision. Part of me wishes I had had it done now as I dont want anymore kids and OH has been on waiting list for the snip since we had our 2nd!!!

Sorry I cant be of anymore help.

HI monica

I have gone through this myself but my sister has, she decided that at almost 40 her 3rd would be her last, she had her the week after i had paige. SHe had a 3rd c-section and had her tubes tied at the same time, she had a tough time afterwards with having such major surgery, i mean a c-section alone is major surgery in itself, she had to lay flat for 24 hours afterwards and couldnt even lift the baby. but she's glad she did it all in one

i know this is an old post buti had to reply.. i had Abby in sept by section and was serilised at the same time the only difference (second baby second section and 40 yrs young)wasi had a small drain inserted in my wound for 12 hour i recovered the same and was sitting breast feeding her 8 hour later after i had "de frosted" from my spinal no lying around for me i was up and showered 12 hours after once they took the drain outsoifyour sure youdon't want any more then go for it but what i will say is there is a 1 in 200 chance of it failing and you getting pregnant where as with a vasectomy its 1 in 1000 sothats worth a thought good luck its getting near now
