Hi ladies

I've been having a nightmare with the company babyshop.co.uk has anyone else had any problems with them? I ordered a travel system 3 weeks ago and hadnt heard anything from them, so emailed them to ask when i could expect it. I had no reply. My husband then tried to phone them and spoke to a lady who said the travel system we wanted was out of stock but we could have a different one for ??40 extra - he said we didnt want a different one so they said they would email me how to get a refund....suprise suprise no email. Then my husband tried to phone back but noone would answer the phone. he then sent an email saying that he was going to contact trading standards and they emailed back saying we would have a refund within 7 days .... i just have an awful feeling that its not going to be very easy to get the money back. Ive just been reading reviews online - most say the same as me, order placed money paid no sign of item, takes ages for a refund some have been waiting months and noone to contact - please read reviews online before thinking about ordering from this company xx

Hi,
I have had exactly the same experience, I ordered a pram in May this year, it wasn't delivered and I have been unable to get a refund. I have had email responses from Amie who keeps promising a refund by cheque but surprise surprise it doesn't turn up.
All full account has been recorded here:

I also paid by Debit card and they do have an obligation to help you get the refund but only within a specific time frame, and as I have been trying to sort this out myself I am no longer covered by them. I recently visited the address on the website, it appears to be an old farm with some out buildings but there is a gate which is locked so I couldn't enter. A local farmer told me that he hadn't seen anyone for months and has assumed they have moved on. However, we made a small purchase recently to see if they are still trading and they are.
I suggest you contact Consumer Direct on 08454 04 05 06 . They can give you advise on how to proceed on the matter but most importantly the more complaints that are logged against this company will lead to an investigation on them and will hopefully stop this scam.
Good Luck!

Hi
I feel a fool not to have done some research on this company bar a phonecall I made to them before my purchase.
Have been having the same problems as others - receiving emails from an 'Aimee' changing my delivery date and offering new delivery dates and extra gifts. I also spoke to a Claire and was informed her manager was Sarah Clarke but she wasn't in the office.
They have promised me an full refund - ??272.97 - verbally and by email but I contacted my bank RBS anyway and they are going to help me retrieve the money.
I have printed off the emails they have sent me to help my case which I will send back to my bank with a form they are going to provide me with.
Paid by visa direct debit from RBS but they can still help with retail disputes despite it being debit and not credit.
Took advice of katmar3 and contacted Consumer Direct. If they fail to pay refund within 30 days you must contact Babyshop and Consumer Direct again and you have the right to take them to the small claims court. It costs ??25.00 for items under ??300 and if I fail to get the money back through the bank will definitely pursue this. Will keep you posted on how I get on. Don't give up - contact your bank - speak to Consumer Direct/ Citizens Advice - take them to small claims court!

Hi Mrs Jones09
Did you get your refund?

Just an update - after pestering babyshop they appear to be giving me a full refund - spoke to Sage Pay to confirm this but not in my account as yet. My hubby was trying to track down the company (limited company?)that owns babyshop. They have the same address and VAT registered number as Aimee's Boutique, weddingshop.co.uk and youlookgorgeous.co.uk (website under maintenance). He's an accoutant and wanted to have a look at their accounts.
All the emails I have received have been from an Aimee. They told me before the refund they had sent me out free gifts of a footmuff and a parasol. When I requested a refund they asked me to send the items back. They did change their minds as a 'gesture of goodwill' when I suggested to them nothing would arrive. To my surprise they did. Box was reused from an old one, no letter inside, my name hand written on the front. It didn't look professional at all but goods all there. Very strange indeed.
Also, have been on the phone to Obaby who had them on their list of approved stockists in January - now taken down. No one could tell me why but I haven't given up. That's was why I purchased from them in the first place.
Aimee's Boutique has got really good web reviews. It's all a mystery. Maybe she's trying to turn things around. I don't know. Maybe I'm just lucky.

I wish I'd read this review before I made my purchase! Paid over £200 for a pram for my baby that is due in less than four weeks. I ordered it on the 2nd of June 2012 and it's now 18th of June and still no sign of it. Emailed 'Aimee' and even spoke to her on the phone. She assured me it would be delivered last Saturday before 1pm, I waited in all day and it did not arrive. I have emailed her again and haven't had a response yet, trying to call right now but nobody is answering the phone despite it being within opening hours. No wonder they have removed PayPal as a payment option as they offer protection to buyers. I paid by debit card via sagepay and from what i've gathered I have zero protection. I can see this matter ending up in the smalls claims court. My baby is due in less than a month, I am £217 down and my first child has no pram, I will probably have to buy another one from a better retailer until i get this matter sorted.

Yes, I too, wish I'd read this before I'd ordered a car seat.  They took my payment on 8 June, gave me a delivery date, changed it at the last minute to the following week, then of course nothing arrived.  Email from Aimee said she'd look into it then get back to me but she didn't.  So I emailed asking for a refund, to which she replied it would be back on my credit card account within 2-6 days.  That was 2 weeks ago, and I am still waiting.  Cant get through to her by phone, and she doesn't answer my emails now.  Hopefully Barclaycard will be able to help...
