hi, sam is now 19 weeks, up till now we have been bf, with one botttle at 7pm.

this last couple of weeks, sam has bf for less and less time. and has been stopping after 10 mins or less crying/screeching and arching his back. have given him teething gel and infant gaviscon but it hasnt helped. have waited tilll he is really hungry but it still happens.

i am prodcuing milk, and my diet shouldnt cause a problem

to check he wasnt hungry i started to offer a bottle aftterwards, which he greedily chugs down, so he is hungry just doesnt want to bf! AND he will only take a bottle if sitting in his bouncer, he does the same thing when cradled or sat on our lap.

also, he wont take ebm from a bottle!

so, he is now only formula apart from his 1030pm sleepy feed, im dsispapointed cos i wanted to bf at least to 6 months but am being forced to ff, what can i do?!?! such a pain in the a**e to make up, wash and sterilise bottles!

rach xXx

yes the ff is harder i felt when i switched last time! its obviously what baby wants hun dont feel bad you have done it for 19 weeks which is a long time i would be proud if i get to that stage with my daughter who is 5 weeks and im finding it difficult at times. my son wouldnt have a bottle off us at that age and wanted to be in his bouncer not on our lap and it broke my heart as i felt like my baby had gone!!! boys are more independent i feel and is still the same now not a cuddly boy at all. whereas my daughter wont be put down and screams! so different xx
