hi ladies

I have been EBF for nearly 5 weeks now and Alex is thriving, he has increased from his birth weight of 7 12 oz to at last weigh in last week 10lb 1 x he was feeding 3 hourly during the day and 3-4 hourly at night UNTIL my c section scar got infected and they put me on antibiotics x

the dr said they are safe in breast feeding and that alex may have looser stools but he has been so fussy for days now and am just wondering if this could be as a result of the tablets?

he is usually really good at settling himself but the last 2 days he has been feeding 2 hourly and not settling well in his moses basket and continually wants to sleep in our arms x

so if it is the antibiotics how long will they take to get out of my system and out of my milk? I finish the course today and am in need of some sleep x

I was on antibiotics straight after the birth and the doctor just said they were safe, he didn't tell me that they would upset babys stomach and give her tummy ache! She was fine until my milk came in then she would scream after every feed with pain and pooed constantly. We ended up calling nhs direct at 2am we were so worried

She got better really soon after the course finished though - I'm sure things will improve tomorrow.

Would help if these things were explained properly to us in the first place wouldn't it!

my beautiful well behaved baby has returned and is back to feeding 3 hourly and 4 hourly at night (he even went 5 hours between a feed last night whoop whoop) x

thankfully antibiotics are out of my system and he is back to his usual happy self x
