I am breastfeeding my 3rd baby and my boys both stopped feeding themselves at 8 months then 11 months. After every problem imaginable with them including frequent mastitis, thrush, cuts, sores and bleeding nipples I have only had one bout of mastitis with my daughter so am really enjoying feeding her. She is 10 months old now and still feeds 6 or 7 times a day from me which is the only fluids she gets (apart from milk on cereal and in meals) as she just plays with a beaker and cup then throws them on the floor, and has never had a teat which I obviously won't be introducing now. I have no problem with these feeds as I am still off work and she only feeds for 10 mins at a time. I know I still have plenty of milk as I can hear her swallowing and have also expressed each morning since she was born and still do one side and easily get 2oz every day before she feeds from it. I would just like to know how often other babies of this age and older feed as I will carry on as long as she wants to. My only problem is that she has always fed under arm in the rugby position from both sides as for some reason she wasn't taking milk whilst in any other position so didn't regain her birth weight until she was nearly 5 weeks old and has stayed feeding that way. However, she is obviously getting very long now and it's getting more difficult to feed her in that position. How do you feed older/bigger babies?
Thanks x
