A friend has offered us a travel cot, should we buy a new mattress for it?

Travel cot mattresses are quite thin and 'stuck down' so hard to get fitted sheets around. You can buy a proper travel cot mattress which is nicer and more comfy. I got one just last week from the Cot Mattress Company for ??16.99 and I'm really pleased with it. We use our travel cot (2nd hand from my sister) for daytime naps and as a playpen. Vicky x

Hi you can get mattresses for travel cots from mothercare. they go on top of the base mattress - the playpen floor. Does that make sense? They are thin and washable. I used to wash ours inbetween each use because it was stored for several weeks/months between uses. Then if I used it as a playpen I didnt put the extra mattress down.
